The School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) at the Spears School of Business (AACSB accredited) at Oklahoma State University (OSU) is seeking highly motivated, qualified applicants to apply for our world-renowned Ph.D. in Business Administration program with a concentration in Hospitality and Tourism Management.
Established in 1937, the School of HTM is one of the nation's oldest hospitality and tourism educational programs. It has evolved into a business-focused, high-caliber academic department. The School of HTM has been consistently ranked among the top 15 HTM programs in the United States and within the top 25 worldwide based on research productivity. The Ph.D. program prepares scholars with the competencies and confidence needed to teach, conduct research, and apply research findings within the hospitality and tourism industry. Successful doctoral students are distinguished by a strong research orientation, a focused academic goal, and a commitment to excellence.
Some important information is noted below:
1. It is a four-year Ph.D. in Business Administration Program with a primary emphasis on research, applicants must have strong research potential.
2. Ph.D. assistantships include a financial stipend of approximately $25,000 per year on a 9-month basis for 20 hours of service as a teaching assistant and/or research assistant.
3. Additional summer support of $5,500 plus travel support is available.
4. Assistantships also include full coverage of tuition and some student fees.
5. Excellent health insurance is included.
6. Total financial package is approximately $32,000.
7. Fellowships are offered by the school and are awarded to the most deserving candidates.
8. Scholarships are available through HTM, Spears School of Business, and OSU.
9. Submission of test scores is required.
10. Initial contact with a potential faculty advisor is strongly recommended.
11. To be considered for a graduate assistantship, the application must be submitted before January 13, 2023.
