MHIS开始了全新探究单元“我的衣柜”,通过一场充满活力的扎染工作坊激发了K1、K2和K3学生的创造力和好奇心。这项充满趣味的活动由中学美术老师主导,为该单元的引入提供了一个完美的开端,激发了学生们对图案、纺织品和个人表达的兴趣。
MHIS has launched its vibrant new inquiry unit, "My Wardrobe," with a dynamic tie-dye workshop that inspired creativity and curiosity among pupils from K1, K2, and K3. This engaging activity, led by the middle
school art teacher, served as the perfect hook to introduce the unit, sparking excitement about patterns, textiles, and personal expression.
在工作坊中,学生们使用鲜艳的蓝色染料,探索扎染艺术。他们尝试折叠、扭转和绑扎等技巧,创造出螺旋、条纹和太阳光芒等惊艳图案。当设计逐渐成形,孩子们对独特的作品充满兴奋和自豪。K2的Scott骄傲地展示作品,并说:“我喜欢扎染,因为它很有趣,图案很好看!
In the workshop, the students used vibrant blue dye to explore the art of tie-dye. They experimented with techniques such as folding, twisting, and tying, creating stunning patterns like spirals, stripes, and sun rays. As the designs gradually took shape, the children felt excited and proud of their unique creations. K2’s Scott proudly showcased his work, saying, "I like tie-dye because it's fun, and the patterns look great!"
在“我的衣柜”单元导入周,孩子们表现出对新主题的浓厚兴趣。为激发好奇心,老师们准备了装满各式服装的行李箱,与孩子们一起探讨服装的功能和特点。孩子们积极挑选衣物,尝试根据天气类型选择合适的穿搭,例如晴天穿薄衣、雪天穿厚衣。
During the "My Wardrobe" unit introduction week, the children showed great interest in the new topic. To spark curiosity, the teachers prepared suitcases filled with various clothes and explored with the children the functions and features of different outfits. The children eagerly selected clothing and tried to pick the right outfits for different weather conditions, such as wearing light clothes on sunny days and warm clothes on snowy days.

各班还开展了丰富的探究游戏,如角色扮演、服装分类和搭配。孩子们在互动中学习,分享见解。K3的佑佑在制作衣柜手工时兴奋地说:“我的衣柜外面有装饰,里面能装很多衣物。”Michelle则分享:“我的衣柜里有玩具和巧克力!”虽然不一定真实,却展现了她乐于分享、富有想象力的一面。
Each class also engaged in enriching exploration games, such as role-playing, clothing classification, and matching activities. The children learned through interaction and shared their insights. K3's Louis excitedly said while making a wardrobe craft, "My wardrobe has decorations on the outside, and it can hold lots of clothes." Michelle shared, "My wardrobe has toys and chocolate!" Although not necessarily true, it showed her sharing nature and imaginative side.
此外,老师们组织了跨文化在线交流,孩子们与异国朋友对话,了解不同文化背景下的服饰风格和功能。K1的睿瑾用中文问外国友人:“你的衣柜里有什么呢?”孩子们对多彩的服饰充满好奇:“为什么衣服颜色这么鲜艳?”“这些装饰有什么特别?”“好厉害哦!”在轻松互动中,他们感受到不同服装的独特之处,像经历了一场小小的“文化旅行”。此次交流活动不仅拓宽了视野,还培养了他们对多样性和包容的理解,让孩子们收获满满!
Additionally, the teachers organised cross-cultural online exchanges, allowing the children to converse with foreign friends and learn about clothing styles and functions from different cultural backgrounds. K1’s Anny asked a foreign friend in Chinese, "What do you have in your wardrobe?" The children were curious about the colourful clothes: "Why are the clothes so bright?" "What's special about these decorations?" "That's amazing!" Through this fun interaction, they experienced the uniqueness of different clothing, as if on a mini "cultural journey." This exchange not only broadened their horizons but also fostered their understanding of diversity and inclusion, leaving the children with valuable takeaways.
在接下来的探究学习中,孩子们将深入了解服饰的文化背景和个人意义。他们还将亲身体验纺织品创作与衣物设计,感受服装中的艺术性与创意表达。通过这一单元的学习,我们期待孩子们不仅能增强对服饰文化的理解,还能提升观察力、想象力和艺术审美能力,让每一次探索都成为他们成长的宝贵经历!
In the upcoming exploration, the children will delve deeper into the cultural background and personal significance of clothing. They will also experience textile creation and clothing design firsthand, appreciating the artistry and creative expression in fashion. Through this unit, we hope that the children will not only enhance their understanding of clothing culture but also develop their observational skills, imagination, and artistic aesthetic, making every exploration a precious growth experience!
