溯空间荣幸呈现开馆展《極——时间的切片与标本》,这是一场集聚44位集中在长三角地区积极活跃的艺术家、多种媒介共荣的艺术家群展。他们的作品通过多样的创作形式,探讨世界、自身、空间以及人类情感的关系。向前奔跑与回溯过去究竟是否冲突,本次展览以通过记录时间切片的标本试图激发观者对此深层的思考。

当艺术回溯到最初的本源时,⼈的真诚性才可以被调动或激发出来,⽽时间的延展也将在每个创作者⾝上留下独特光斑,如同个体天⽣所挟带的基因⼀般,染⾊体(chromosome)「来⾃希腊语χρῶμα(⾊度,“颜⾊”)和σῶμα(体细胞,“体”)」的异同,⾃然强化着⼈在⾏为⽅式上的⼼理判断及记忆切⽚,当反射⾄艺术创作中时,阶段性的语⾔⾯貌和形态语法则是构成⼀个个超越⽣命个体“极”限的进阶座系和标本。

Trace back to the origin of art, human sincerity has been mobilized or stimulated since long time ago, and the extension of time left a unique highlight on each creator, just like the genes carried by individuals naturally. The differences and similarities in chromosomes "from the Greek words χ ρῶμ alpha (chromaticity," color ") and σ ῶμ alpha (somatic cells," body ")" naturally strengthen people's psychological judgment and memory slices in their daily life. When it reflected in artistic creation, the specific language and morphological practice formed an advanced system and specimen that transcends the "infinite" limits of living individuals.

“极”(極)始见于《⽯⿎⽂》,由本义引申义为“最⾼的、达到极点的”。作为溯艺术空间开馆展的展览主题,探讨“极”的第⼀层含义是对空间名称“溯”字的回应,“溯”的本意为端直地逆流⽽上,某种程度上,它也有回源和坚质之意;第⼆层的“极”在于探讨⽩盒⼦空间到与艺术家作品展陈的丰富和多维;⽽第三层⾯的“极”,意为回溯到异质的创作者本⾝,其中不仅包含了艺术家和作品之间的语⾔符号,同时还包括他/她们在此时表现出的⾃我的“极”。

The word 'infinity' first appeared in the 'Stone Drum Inscription' and was extended from its original meaning to mean 'no boundaries, reaching the extreme'. As the exhibition theme of the Su Art Space opening exhibition, exploring the first meaning of "infinity" is a response to the space name "Su". The original meaning of "Su" is to go straight upstream, and to some extent, it also has the meaning of returning to the source and being firm; The second level's' infinity 'lies in exploring the richness and multidimensionality of the white box space and the exhibition of artists' works; And the third level of 'infinity' means to trace back to the heterogeneous creators themselves, which not only includes the language symbols between artists and works, but also includes their own 'infinity' expressed at this time.

回到⽇常的⾔说,我们时有听到“这是我的极限”等词句,这⾥反应的都是从个体对事物的基本判断、认知,其中囊括了假想的“常识和智识”等,从⽽转换到我们⾁⾝的最⼤负荷和承载⼒,再去输出“⽆限靠近⽽永远不能到达”的⼼理状态。从这个语义来说,“极”更多的是我们给予⾃我的某种框架,⼀旦将范围和能⼒设定以后,⾝体的机能也会⾃然下降,但若我们冲破⽇常的⼼理预设,⾝体和⼼理的主观表述,或许会达到另⼀⾼度,即达到⼀个新的“极”。

However, if we break through our daily psychological assumptions and subjective expressions of body and mind, we may reach another level, that is, reach a new 'extreme'.

在邀请的44位艺术家中,每个艺术家都在寻找或已确⽴各⾃创作的最好状态,可能这⼀系列的作品能够代表个⼈创作的理想境地,但似乎还有空间,往上⾛的间距……或者需要往下削弱的成分。⽆论是在上下,还是处于中部期间,我相信他/她们每个⼈都在这个阶段徘徊、思考:明晰了⽅向,错位的失落,下⼀次的期待,都在作品⾯貌上表现的⼀览⽆余。

Among the 44 invited artists, each artist is searching for or has established their own best state of creation. While this series of works may represent the ideal state of personal creation, there seems to be room for improvement, upward spacing... or elements that need to be weakened downward. Whether in the upper and lower stages or in the middle stage, I believe that each of them is hovering and contemplating at this stage: the clarity of direction, the misplaced loss, and the expectations for the next time are all clearly expressed in the appearance of the work.

关于策展人

惠书文( HUI SHUWEN ) 

策展人,批评家,艺术史论研究者。

现任上海YOUNG美术馆、拂尘庵美术馆馆长。COUNTER-FEIT当代艺术双年展品牌创办人,"猎质"国际当代艺术双年展总策展人。RAINBOW BOX PROJECT发起人,AN ART MUSEUM策展人。溯空间合作策展人。主要从事中国当代艺术史论研究与写作、当代艺术批评实践、展览策划及独立艺术空间的创建与运营等工作。
