Jason, an S4 student at QSI Shenzhen, is the 2024 Hong Kong Junior Golf Champion. My name is Jason in the class of 2025 currently studying in QSI Shenzhen Secondary, from Hong Kong (current 2024 Hong Kong Junior Close Champion). I am a student-athlete and my dad and I have been traveling around the Northeast part of the US last summer and this summer. I truly have become comfortable in the Northeast and have gained invaluable experience on all fronts. Therefore, I just accepted the offer from Long Island University.
大家好，我是Jason ，2025届QSI深圳 高中的学生，来自香港（现任2024年香港青少年高尔夫锦标赛冠军）。作为一位学生运动员，我与父亲去年夏天和今年夏天都游历了美国东北部，现已对这片土地倍感亲切，并在各方面积积累了宝贵的经验。因此，我欣然接受了来自长岛大学（LIU）的录取通知。
Before I became a competitive student athlete let’s travel back to how everything started. I started playing golf when I was three and a half years old. By then I go to every practice with my brother during the weekends and go down course with my dad and my brother. When I was six years old, I had my first hole in one and decided to become a competitive golfer. Throughout my golfing career, school wasn’t easy at all... especially during my high school years.
让我们回溯到一切的开始，看看我是如何成长为一名竞技学生运动员的。早在三岁半时，我便与高尔夫结下了不解之缘。每个周末，我都会和哥哥一起参加训练，并与父亲和哥哥一同下场练习。六岁时，我第一次一杆进洞，便立志成为一名职业高尔夫运动员。高尔夫生涯中，学业之路并不平坦……尤其是高中时期。
During my freshman year academic and golf wasn’t very hard to balance, however, at the start of my sophomore year things were much more different. I remember having to start doing assignments during tournaments and it was horrible. The worst feeling is that after a bad tournament and I’m already in a bad mood and remembering that I have a whole stack of homework and projects just staring at me in the corner.
在高一的时候，学业和高尔夫并不难兼顾，但是到了高二开始，情况就大不一样了。我记得我不得不在比赛期间做作业，这太可怕了。最糟糕的感觉是，在一场不顺利的比赛之后，我的心情已经很不好了，却还记得有一大堆作业和项目就在角落里盯着我。
During my junior year I had a total of 32 days of absence and all those days were due to tournaments.. The main reason for me to play so many tournaments was because I managed to achieve a top 40 ranking in China and playing some of the major tournaments was critical and mandatory for me and for my path to receive an offer from an univeristy.
高三那年，我的旷课情况最严重。比在 QSI 的所有旷课天数加起来都要多。我一共缺席了 32 天，而这些天都是因为参加比赛。我参加这么多比赛的主要原因是，我在整个中国的排名达到了前 40 名，参加一些大型比赛对我来说至关重要，也是我获得大学录取通知书的关键。
Fortunately, all the hard work paid off. I received an offer from Long Island University (LIU) this summer, including an academic scholarship for my freshman year and both academic and athletic scholarships for the next three years. To top it off, I officially committed to LIU on October 7, 2024. I really want appreciate all the teachers, counselors, and staff who supported me throughout my time at QSI. Without their encouragement, none of this would have been possible.
幸运的是，所有的努力都得到了回报。今年夏天，我收到了长岛大学（LIU）的录取通知，包括大一学年的学术奖学金以及接下来三年的学术和体育奖学金。更令人振奋的是，我于2024年10月7日正式承诺加入LIU。在此，我要衷心感谢QSI的全体老师、升学指导和工作人员，是他们的鼓励与支持让我得以取得今天的成就。
