Following the overall QSI mission to keep the students’ eagerness to learn alive, the counseling team aims to align its programs and services to support the school’s mission. Further, we aim to empower students by working with all the stakeholders—administrators, teachers, staff, and parents—to better understand the needs of the students and provide relevant support.

We envision the counseling team as a proactive support system. Through the various programs and services that we provide, we aim to specifically address the personal, social, and emotional concerns of the students for them to achieve their highest potential and prepare them to become responsible, lifelong learners who demonstrate a global perspective based on an understanding of multicultural learning and the dynamic, diverse experiences of themselves and others. Further, we will maintain this standard of support by engaging in ethical practices and continuous professional development.

•We co-facilitate a schoolwide Social Emotional Learning curriculum
(Empower-QSI’s program)
•Support the implementation of the Success Orientations.
•We train and educate staff about child protection and safety
•Provide parent and teacher consultation with the Student Support Team for any academic needs (ASCA, 2023).
•Help with referrals to outside services if needed.
•Provide suggestions to teachers on effective behavior classroom management.
•Support the school administration in making the school community a safe and respectful learning environment.
