如果你没有模仿过优秀的文章，你写不出美的文章。
很多英语学霸，阅读在初一就到达高考英语水平了，但写作一眼看出来就是漏洞百出。事实上，我们大部分人都是成熟的中文阅读者，但能把文章写得生动有趣，有条理的人不多。因为写作锻炼的是写作自动化能力。而阅读锻炼的是阅读自动化能力。这是两种完全不同的能力。
Have you ever bumped into someone and their name just doesn't come to you? Or, you walk into a room and suddenly can't recall why you're there? Being forgetful can be really annoying, sometimes even embarrassing. But what if I told you that there are actually good reasons for our memories fading away?
In a BBC interview, neuroscientist Charan Ranganath uses a hoarding analogy. We don't tend to store everything we've ever owned in our house. Similarly, we don't need to store all our memories either. He says, "If we didn't forget anything, we'd be hoarding memories, and you'd never be able to find what you want, when you want it." For example, you don't need to remember the hotel number weeks after you've left the hotel or memorise all the faces you pass on the street.
第一 学习文章的结构
这篇文章是用问句开头，吸引读者注意。值得借鉴。先列举了生活中遗忘的例子，然后转折，说遗忘其实是有好处的。这个衔接非常自然，也值得学习。
第二段开头用一个 similarly 就把两个句子合理衔接了，这样的地方都是值得我们学习的。

左边英文 右边中文
bumped into someone 偶遇某人
their name just doesn't come to you 记不起他们的名字
walk into a room 走进一个房间

第三，模仿精彩的句子
We don't tend to store everything we've ever owned in our house. Similarly, we don't need to store all our memories either.
比如我模仿这两句，用肯定形式写关于攀比的现象。
We tend to compare ourselves with those showing a bright side on social media. Similarly, we tend to ignore the difficulties others experience, focusing only on their highlights.
这样的阅读，比泛泛而读会慢很多，但肯定收获更大。当然，不可走极端，把所有的阅读都变成这样的精读。如果你看的是小说，首先是享受故事情节，是沉浸式体验里面的爱恨情仇。
