Stephenie Lee, special education specialist and advocate, is excited to share insights and research at the Beijing American Center on Tuesday, November 12. Stephenie has been supporting students across North America and Asia for over a decade, on Gates Foundation and Chan Zuckerberg funded initiatives, collaborating with families, public and private schools, and researchers in China and the U.S. As founder of Beacon Learning and board member of SENIA-Beijing, Stephenie has worked to foster a community in Beijing for greater inclusivity and accessibility to vital resources as families discover more about their child’s learning profile and make educational choices based on that. Stephenie has been involved in hosting awareness events, educational conferences, teacher trainings, and parent talks, and what she loves to do best, supporting individual students hand-in-hand with their teachers and families.

In this sharing, Stephenie will offer insights and research regarding the complexity of raising kids in multilingual and multicultural contexts and how that complexity can be further compounded by questions regarding a child’s learning profile. Drawing on her personal experiences as a third culture kid and her many years supporting children in North America and Asia, Stephenie will seek to answer questions that often come up with educators, parents, and children themselves. In this talk, attendees are welcome to come with their own questions!
