Join us as we mark the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action during the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. Adopted in 1995, this important document laid the groundwork for global efforts toward gender equality and women’s empowerment. In this conversation, we’ll reflect on the progress made over the past three decades, acknowledge the challenges that remain, and explore how we can continue working together to create a world free from gender-based violence. Let’s renew our commitment to building a future where equality and justice are accessible to all.

All attendees, regardless of age, must bring their government-issued, physical ID with name, photo, and ID number for entry to the Consulate. We do not provide safekeeping services for cameras and laptops, please do not bring them with you. Other belongings will be temporarily stored at the gate, including small bags. Your personal cell phone will be permitted. Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities who wish to attend this event are available upon request. Please submit a request for accommodations in advance or as soon as possible via email to GuangzhouAMCenter@state.gov. If you have any symptoms of physical discomfort, please do not attend. We will take all possible measures to maintain a safe environment for public events.
