In this issue, we are celebrating all things pets! Pets bring us joy, they are little bundles of love, and are valued members of the family. As pet ownership rises, so too does the business of pets. In our Cover Story (16), we look at some homegrown businesses here in Shanghai that cater to all the needs of pets and pet parents from nutritious food, socialization opportunities, relocation, and final goodbyes. Plus, what fun would pet life be without toys and gadgets to keep your little rascal entertained. In Home Life (62), we ask four pet owners for their favorite gadgets that they and their pets love, and in the Style Solutions column (50) we get one family’s recommendations on the accessories their dogs love. Pets play an important role in our lives. They teach us responsibility and love as we develop an important relationship together. The Mom Blog (30) reflects on this unbreakable bond between a mom and her fur baby.
With this being the summer issue, we take a look at the graduation ceremonies of recent graduates from around Shanghai’s international, bilingual and kindergarten schools in the Education Feature (31). Pick up a new book and discover the joy of reading. In the Feature (22) we give some book recommendations for readers of all ages. The spare time at home with family is also a great opportunity for parents to connect on a deeper level with their children. In Health (40) we look at tips for strengthening the emotional connection between kids and parents.
