Scape without a cicatrix; middle coxal cavities slightly open externally to epimera; tarsal claws divaricate; middle tibiae notched externally. Head nearly as broad as prothorax; antennal insertions distant, hardly raised; vertex feebly concave; frons fully as wide as deep, broader above than below; eyes deeply emarginate, finely facetted, distant above; antennae as long as body, slender, sixth to ninth segments thicker than others, except scape, which is cyliudrical and longer than third segment; prothorax slightly longer than broad, convex above and feebly swollen at sides, constricted at base, briefly toothed at each side behind middle, deeply punctured; scutellum narrow and rounded-truncate; elytra more than twice as long as head and prothorax united, only a little broaderthan prothorax at tubercles, subeylindrical, feebly narrowed behind base, rounded apically. subseriate-punctate; anterior coxal cavities separate, closed behind, augulate externally; anterior and middle intercoxal processes fecbly and gradually arched, subequal in width; legs short, femora modestly swollen, hind pair reaching barely more than one-half distance to elytral apices; tarsi small, first segment but slightly longer than second.柄节没有端疤；中足基节窝向中胸后侧片略微开放；爪全开式；中足胫节外侧有斜沟。头部几乎与前胸一样宽；触角基瘤相距较远，几乎不隆起；头顶微弱凹陷；前额长宽完全相等，上面比下面宽；复眼深凹，小眼面细粒，上叶相距甚远；触角长约等于体长，细长，第6至9节比其他触角粗（除了柄节），柄节呈圆柱形，长于第3节；前胸长略胜于宽，上面凸起，两侧微弱肿胀，基部收缩，中间后两侧各有侧短齿，刻点深；小盾片狭长，圆形截断；鞘翅长为头和前胸之和的两倍多，在仅比前胸侧刺突处稍宽，亚圆柱形，基部后部微弱变窄，末端圆形，刻点略排成行；前足基节窝分离，关闭式，外侧角状；前、中胸腹板凸片轻微逐渐拱起，宽度约相等；足短，腿节中度肿胀，后足腿节略超出鞘翅中间；跗节小，第1节，略长于第2节。This genus differs from Miaenia Pascoe in having the antennae shorter and slightly thickened apically, in having the prothorax more cylindrical and suddenly constricted basally, with small tubercles, the elytra more nearly parallel and blunt apically and the body clothed with long fine erect hairs. It differs from Exocentrus Mulsant in being more slender, with fine hairs instead of bristles, and in having the prothorax cylindrical and more briefly toothed at sides, etc.该属与Miaenia Pascoe的不同之处在于触角较短，末端略增粗，前胸更圆柱形，基部突然收缩，有小结节，鞘翅更近平行，顶端钝，身体布满细长的直立毛发。它与 Exocentrus Mulsant 的不同之处在于更细长，有细毛而不是刚毛，并且前胸呈圆柱形，两侧有更短的齿等。Sphigmothorax bicinctus Gressitt, 1939

Black, shining；clothed with silvery white pubescence as follows: scutellum densely clothed; elytra crossed by two narrow,transverse bands of dense white pubescence, the first one-eighth elytral length from base, the other just behind middle, both hardly touching suture or external margins, and bent slightly backwards from each side towards suture, apices with a small area thinly clothed with white; head and antennae thinly clothed; ventral surface and legs thinly clothed, most densely clothed on sides of thorax. Dorsal surface of body and inner sides of basal antennal segments clothed with long, erect black bristles, some slightly shorter and finer ones on front of head and outer side of antennal scape and tibiae; remainder of legs and thoracic and abdominal sterna with shorter, suberect palish hairs.
黑色，有光泽，被有银白色绒毛，如下所示：小盾片密布；鞘翅有两条狭窄的横带密被白色绒毛，第1条在鞘翅基部1/8处，第2条在中部后方，均不接触鞘缝或外缘，从两侧向缝合线略微向后弯曲，鞘翅末端有一小块薄薄的白色绒毛斑；头部和触角绒毛稀疏；腹面和足被薄薄的绒毛，最密集的在胸部两侧。体背面和基部触角节的内侧布有长而直立的黑色刚毛，在前额、柄节外侧和胫节外侧上有一些稍短而细的刚毛；足的其余部分以及胸和腹部腹板具有较短的亚直立苍白柔毛。
Head practically as broad as prothorax, broad and plane between antennal insertions; surface microgranulose and with irregular small but deep punctures,mostly on vertex and occiput, with a few on frons; eyes very deeply emarginate, inferior lobes one-half again as deep as wide, extending a little more than one-half distance from antennal insertion to base of mandible. Antennae as long as body; scape cylindrical, slightly longer than third segment; fourth segment practically as long as third segment, one-third longer than fifth. Prothorax a little longerthan broad, constricted basally, briefly toothed behind middle of each side; surface closely punctured except on either side of base of disk. Scutellum rounded-truncate. Elytra subparallel, but slightly wider than prothorax, rounded apically, deeply punctured in about eleven longitudinal rows, the punctures very fine apically. Ventral surface micro-punctulate; femora moderately swollen; tarsi short, first segment of hind pair but slightly longer than second.
