A Team of Experienced
Counsellors and Teachers
Our Sixth Form Team is composed of highly experienced professionals, all with extensive knowledge of the global university admissions process. The team is dedicated to guiding students through both their A Level studies and the complex journey of applying to universities worldwide.
The Sixth Form is led by Mrs Kirk, the Head of Sixth Form and Founding Head of Mathematics, who has over 30 years of teaching experience. She oversees all aspects of Sixth Form life, ensuring that students receive the highest level of academic and personal support. Ms Stevens, the Deputy Head of Sixth Form, and Mr Molinari, our University Counsellor, work closely with students to prepare them for the university application process, providing tailored guidance every step of the way. Mrs MacDonald, the Head of Sixth Form Boarding, plays a key role in supporting students’ personal growth, ensuring that boarding life complements their academic journey. The team is further strengthened by Mr Duckworth and Dr Emmerton, both Sixth Form tutors who support students in balancing their studies with personal development.

With strong expertise in both British and international applications, they are well-equipped to guide students through the specific demands of university admissions. Planning for University:
A Step-by-Step Timeline
We guide students through the entire university application process, ensuring they stay on track and meet all important deadlines. Here’s an overview of the key milestones:
Year 10 emphasises the need for mental health care and independence so that students can identify their own learning preferences and start to be secure enough to travel elsewhere for university.
Year 11 begins to explore the incredibly diverse and plentiful options available to them.
Year 12: Students start selecting courses that align with their university goals and begin preparing personal statements and application essays.
Year 13: This is the year for submitting university applications, preparing for interviews, and finalising decisions.

When should students start preparing for university applications?
We recommend starting in Year 10 or 11 to give students plenty of time to explore their options and prepare their applications, whilst encouraging students to look outside their comfort zone, to explore new paths.
Do you provide help for international applications besides the UK (e.g., US, Canada)?
Yes, we offer tailored support for students applying to universities worldwide, including those in the UK, US, Canada, Australia, Europe, Singapore and beyond.
Do you provide IELTS training to non-English native speaking students?
Yes, we offer on-campus customised IELTS training from LEH specialist teachers and mock examinations to help them achieve the scores they need to enter world-class universities.
