自2023年8月加入佛山霍利斯以来，Angela 已成为我们校园社区的重要成员，不仅在多场校园音乐会中大放异彩，还在音乐剧《摇滚校园》中担任主角，令大家印象深刻。
这篇文章，我们邀请 Angela 给大家分享她在佛山霍利斯的经历、对音乐的热爱以及她对未来的期望。
为什么选择佛山霍利斯？
在择校期间，Angela 被佛山霍利斯的资深教师团队和先进的校园设施所吸引。家在广州的她也认为来佛山霍利斯上学很方便。入学后，她很快对学校产生归属感。她说：“这里的设施非常现代化，尤其是宿舍，为学习生活提供了舒适的环境。”此外，学校经常举办多样化的活动，特别是在音乐领域，让她的校园生活变得十分充实。
在舞台上建立自信
音乐在 Angela 在佛山霍利斯校园生活中占据重要分量。她积极参与了学校的合唱团、摇滚乐队和管弦乐团。她说道：“演奏音乐是我的热爱所在。这里的音乐项目包容性很强，几乎所有学生都能参与，这意味着我有很多不同的表演机会。”她对音乐的投入，加上学校的包容氛围，让她有机会探索自己热爱的更多领域。比如说，她在加入佛山霍利斯之前从未参加过合唱团，在这里她勇敢尝试这项新活动。这些经历不仅让 Angela 成长为更出色的小音乐家，也让她在个人发展方面有所成长，正如她所说道：“在舞台上表演让我增强了自信心。”
Angela 令我们最难忘的经历之一莫过于她在校园音乐剧《摇滚校园》中饰演主角 Dewey Finn。起初，她以为自己只是担任键盘手，因此被选为主角时，她感到有点惊愕，因为这个角色是一个不小的挑战。她回忆道：“我当时真的很惊讶！因为我从未担任过任何角色表演。”刚开始时，背台词并揣摩Dewey Finn的独特个性对她来说确实有难度。然而，这段经历教会了她宝贵的时间管理能力和面对挑战的勇气。她说：“这次经历让我敢于站上舞台，也让我认识到即使是自己从未尝试过的事情，也有机会能够把它做好。”
以身作则
除了音乐方面的投入，Angela 还是凤凰学院的队长，负责带领学院学生参加各类比赛并协助组织活动。她自豪地说道：“我感觉自己像个小领导。”这个角色让她有机会培养领导力，并在学业之余与同学们建立深厚的联系。

平衡发展
Angela 兴趣广泛，除了音乐，她还喜欢瑜伽、羽毛球和看动漫。虽然在兴趣爱好和学业之间找到平衡并不容易，但她找到了一套适合自己的方法。她分享道：“我的方法是在上学期间全力以赴、努力学习、合理安排时间，然后在周末完全放松。”这种方式帮助她在学业、音乐和兴趣爱好方面都取得了优异的表现，同时保持积极向上的乐观心态和充满韧性。
目标与志向
Angela 对音乐的热爱激励着她对未来的理想追求。她目前正在为伦敦圣三一学院（LTCL）钢琴文凭考试做准备，并希望进一步提高自己的作曲能力，未来能在大学学习音乐作曲。她觉得自己非常幸运，得到了音乐总监 Mr Hobourn 的悉心指导，帮助她在音乐道路上不断进步。她说道：“我热爱作曲，在 Mr Hobourn 老师的支持下，我相信自己会不断成长。”

At LEH Foshan, we pride ourselves on cultivating talent and supporting students in their passions. One student who exemplifies this is Angela from Year 11 who stands out as a talented musician and inspiring leader.
Angela
Since joining in August 2023, Angela has become a vital part of our school’s community, captivating us all in various school concerts and her leading role in the musical production, School of Rock.
We recently sat down with Angela to discuss her experiences at LEH Foshan so far, her love for music, and her ambitions for the future.
Why LEH Foshan?
Angela was drawn to LEH Foshan for our experienced teaching staff and excellent facilities. Living in Guangzhou, she appreciated the convenient commute, and she soon discovered even more reasons to feel at home. “The facilities are modern, especially the boarding house, which provides a comfortable environment for studying,” she says. Beyond that, the school’s commitment to a wide range of activities—particularly in music—has made her time here both fulfilling and inspiring.
Building Confidence on Stage
Music is at the core of Angela’s experience at LEH Foshan, where she’s been actively involved in the school choir, rock group, and orchestra. “Playing music is my passion,” she explains. “The music programme here is inclusive, allowing nearly all students to participate, which means I get to perform in many different ways.” Her commitment to music, combined with the welcoming environment, has allowed Angela to explore new areas of her passion, including singing in a choir for the first time. “Performing on stage builds my confidence,” she adds, noting how these experiences have helped her grow as a musician and as a person.
One of Angela’s most memorable experiences at LEH Foshan was her lead role as Dewey Finn in School of Rock. Initially, she thought she’d be playing keyboard for the musical, so being asked to take the lead role was both a surprise and a challenge. “I was astonished! I had never acted before,” she recalls. Memorising lines and embodying Dewey’s unique personality was challenging in the beginning. Yet, the experience taught her valuable lessons in time management and courage. “It gave me the courage to perform on stage and showed me I could accomplish something I’d never tried before.”
Leading by Example
In addition to her musical involvement, Angela serves as the house captain for Phoenix House, where she leads students in competitions and helps organise activities. “I feel like a leader,” she says proudly. This role has given her the chance to build her leadership skills and connect with her classmates in meaningful ways, enhancing her school life beyond academics.

Angela has been an excellent choice as House Captain, as she has immediately lead from the front, showing enthusiasm and a positive attitude, which has propelled the whole House forward. I am proud to note her achievements in our House activities, in music and in the school production 'School of Rock'; as well as being one of the top academic pupils in her group at the same time. Angela balances her school work expertly with her responsibilities and hobbies, and always with an infectious smile! She is modest and hardworking, a brilliant leader who is a model for all the school to follow. Angela is a fantastic girl in every sense, and I'm proud to be her Housemaster!
Finding Balance
Angela is a vibrant personality with interests beyond music, such as yoga, badminton, and watching anime. While balancing these interests with her academic work can be challenging, she has developed a strategy that works for her. “My approach is to study hard and plan my time during school days, then relax fully on weekends,” she shares. This balance has allowed her to excel both academically and creatively, keeping her motivated and resilient.
Goals and Ambitions
Angela’s passion for music drives her future aspirations. She is currently preparing for the LTCL piano diploma exam and is keen to improve her composition skills, with the hope of studying music composition at university. She feels fortunate to have support from her music teacher, Mr Hobourn, whose guidance is helping her achieve her musical ambitions. “I love composing, and with Mr Hobourn’s support, I believe I’ll continue to grow,” she says.

Angela joined us in Year 10 as a highly motivated and exceptionally talented musician, having already achieved outstanding results in her ABRSM piano exams. Since joining LEH Foshan, Angela’s commitment to music has been unwavering. She practises daily in the Music department, often staying through breaks and evenings to perfect her technique. Her dedication extends across multiple ensembles, from Senior Choir and Orchestra to Rock Band, and she even took on the challenging lead role in School of Rock. Angela’s passion for music is matched by her openness to guidance and her unique interpretations, which bring each piece she plays to life. As a Music Scholar, she has ambitious goals, and I look forward to supporting her on her musical journey here at LEH Foshan and beyond.
Advice for Aspiring Musicians
For other students interested in music, Angela encourages them to stay committed and embrace every opportunity to perform. “Never be shy to show your talents,” she advises. She also stresses the importance of regular practice and understanding music theory, which, in her view, is essential to truly appreciate and perform music.
Angela’s journey at LEH Foshan embodies the vibrant talent and collaborative spirit within our school community. Her dedication to music, leadership, and personal growth highlights the opportunities our students have to explore their passions and excel.
