On October 15, it was reported by the Shanxi Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment that a new record of the Baer's Pochard distribution was found in the Linfen section of the Fenhe River, identified through ecological quality monitoring and confirmed by bird experts.
The Baer's Pochard is classified as "critically endangered" on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. It is a migratory bird with a global population of only around one thousand individuals. The species has high habitat requirements, and Baer's Pochard had previously been spotted in the Taiyuan Fenhe Wetland.
10月15日，记者从山西省生态环境厅获悉，日前经鸟类专家鉴别确定，山西生态质量监测发现青头潜鸭在汾河临汾段分布的新记录。
青头潜鸭是列入《世界自然保护联盟濒危物种红色目录》的“极危”物种，属迁徙类鸟类，全球数量仅千余只。青头潜鸭对栖息地生境要求较高，此前在太原汾河湿地也曾发现青头潜鸭。
近年来，随着“一泓清水入黄河”生态保护工程深入推进，汾河水质在全面达到Ⅳ类及以上基础上进一步提升。今年1月至8月，汾河流域中下游16个国考断面优良（Ⅲ类及以上）比例为56.3%，较2020年提升19.9个百分点，其中汾河入黄口庙前村断面稳定达到Ⅲ类水质。同时，山西强化推动水资源、水生态、水环境“三水统筹”，实施生物多样性保护重大工程，有效促进野生动物的繁衍生息，汾河流域野生动物分布记录不断刷新，汾河正在全面恢复生机与活力。
