重阳节，又称重九节、晒秋节、“踏秋”，中国传统节日。庆祝重阳节一般会包括出游赏秋、登高远眺、观赏菊花、遍插茱萸、吃重阳糕、饮菊花酒等活动。
重阳节与除夕、清明节、七月半并称中国传统四大祭祖节日。
Double Ninth Festival is a traditional festival in China. It is on September 9th in the lunar calendar. In Double Ninth Festival, we go hiking ,climb mountains, enjoy chrysanthemum and cornel,eat special cakes for the fesival,drink chrysanthemum wines.
Double Ninth Fesival,New Year's Eve,Qingming Festival and Ghost Festival are four most important festivals for worshipping ancestors.

origin
重阳节源自天象崇拜，古人在九月农作物丰收之时祭天帝、祭祖，后来定为农历的九月初九，因为“九”为阳极数，所以两个“九”就是极致的“阳”，所以九月九，双九，就是“重阳”。
The orgin of Double Ninth Festival is the worship of cosmos and nature.September is a harvest season, the Chinese ancestors chose Sep 9th in lunar calendar as the worshio festival.And because "nine" means "yang",so Sep 9th is "double Yang"---"重（double）阳（yang）节（festival）.
因为九九，是非常长寿的岁数，所以这一天也被赋予了“敬老节”的意义，希望全天下的老人都能长寿。
99 is a longlife age, so Sep 9th also has the meaning of respecting old people,and wish all old people live longer and longer.
