Welcome Speech by MSAC President Chong Yee Mun
First, the President of the Malaysian Students Association in China (MSAC), Miss Chong Yee Mun, extended a warm welcome to everyone. The President shared some valuable insights and advice with the freshmen, emphasizing that, as Malaysian international students, we represent our country's image. She hopes that during our study period in China, we can face each day with a positive attitude and showcase the demeanor of Malaysian students.
Additionally, she also hopes that new students can take this opportunity to gain a basic understanding of life while studying in China and courageously seek help from the Provincial Student Association or fellow students on campus when encountering difficulties.
The President also mentioned that university life is fundamentally different from high school. Here, learning will become more autonomous and flexible, and teachers will no longer provide hand-in-hand guidance as they did in high school. We need to learn to think independently, take the initiative in our studies, and make full use of the internet and various resources. There are many paths that can be chosen in university, but there is no need to rush for quick progress. We should proceed steadily and pragmatically. A solid and steady approach to learning and living will become the most reliable foundation when we look back in the future.
Finally, the President reminded everyone that safety is the top priority when studying abroad. Whether in study or daily life, we should always pay attention to our personal safety and avoid any actions that might endanger our lives.

She encouraged students to join student clubs at their schools or universities, as these are excellent opportunities to make friends with Chinese students and engage in cultural exchanges between Malaysians and Chinese.
Finally, Dr. Cherry Wei reminded all students that we are ambassadors of Malaysia. Our actions and behaviors reflect not only on ourselves but also on our country. She hopes everyone to uphold the values of integrity, respect, and kindness and build bridges of friendship and understanding with people from different backgrounds.
