In the upcoming 2025-2026 academic year, SCIE will further enhance its AP programme, offering an estimated 15 AP courses. This will provide students aiming to apply to U.S. universities with a broader range of options and a solid academic foundation. In the future, SCIE plans to adjust or expand AP offerings based on demand, with specific course implementation details to be officially announced by the Educational Administration Office (EAO) at the start of the academic year.
SCIE’s AP programme will align with the subject requirements of top-tier universities, covering core categories such as English, Mathematics, Science, and Humanities, along with elective courses like Economics and Computer Science, etc. After completing the IGCSE curriculum in their first two years at SCIE, students will select A-level or AP courses based on their university application goals, the requirements of their target universities, and advice from the school's University & Career Office (UCO).
AP courses are Advanced Placement courses designed by College Board specifically for high school students who have the ability to tackle university-level academic challenges. SCIE obtained the member school qualification of College Board in 2010 and started delivering AP courses in 2016. SCIE boasts an exceptional team of qualified teachers who receive comprehensive and ongoing training to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality AP courses.
The expansion of the AP programme will enrich and extend the current curriculum at SCIE, providing greater support and diverse options for students applying to U.S. universities and colleges as their primary choice. This initiative will give students a competitive edge in global university admissions, particularly for top U.S. institutions.
