SCIE Sports Teams Shine Bright!

November has been a month full of achievements for the SCIE sports teams! Whether in Malaysia, Thailand, or Hainan, China, SCIE students showcased exceptional skills and a spirit of determination across various international and domestic sports competitions. They excelled in football, volleyball, basketball, and badminton, bringing honor to the school. Here’s a recap of their outstanding performances:

FOBISIA Football

On November 7th, the FOBISIA Football teams travelled to Malaysia to participate in the annual FOBISIA Football Games. This two-day tournament featured 15 teams from across Asia. The boys' team finished in 7th place, while the girls' team secured 6th place. Two SCIE students, Terry Tan and Bobo Li, were selected for the FOBISIA representative side, which will compete in an international tournament in February.



FOBISIA Volleyball

The FOBISIA Volleyball team travelled to Bangkok on November 14th to compete in the FOBISIA Volleyball Tournament. Both the boys' and girls' teams played seven matches each, with both teams advancing to the finals of their respective competitions. The boys' team dropped only one set throughout the entire three-day tournament, ultimately being crowned champions. Unfortunately, the girls' team lost in the final, finishing second overall out of a total of 12 teams. Both teams represented SCIE exceptionally well.

FOBISIA Basketball

During the third weekend of November, the SCIE Basketball teams travelled to Rugby School in Thailand to compete in the FOBISIA Basketball Tournament. Twenty-six schools from across Asia participated in the competition. The boys' team won the Plate Trophy, finishing 9th out of 16 teams, while the girls' team placed 7th. Two students, CH (Wang Chuhan) and Heidi (Wang Yixin), were selected for the representative side as the best players of the weekend.




NESSIC Badminton

During the inaugural NESSIC Sports Competition on November 14th, the school's badminton team travelled to Hainan to participate in a tournament featuring teams from across China. In the Boys' U19 tournament, SCIE achieved a clean sweep: Evan (Nie Guanyan) took first place, Daniel (Zhang Zhen) came second, Jerry (Liang Ruizhe) finished third, and Jonas (Jiang Hanzhi) placed fourth. In the Girls' U19 category, Tiffany (Liu Jiaheng) secured second place, while in the Boys' U15 category, Peter (Li Lingchen) also finished second.



The outstanding performances of the SCIE sports teams not only demonstrated the students' athletic prowess but also reflected their teamwork and fighting spirit. Let us continue to cheer for these exceptional students and look forward to even greater achievements in their future competitions!
