Central Futian 福田中心区


Immerse yourself in Shenzhen’s signature light show themed around Spring Festival during this holiday. Dazzling colors and designs celebrate the essence of this joyous occasion, and more than 40 iconic buildings in central Futian District come alive with brilliant illuminations, transforming the skyline into a breathtaking display of light and wonder.

Huaqiangbei Pedestrian Street 华强北步行街


Huaqiangbei, a vibrant electronics hub, has been illuminated by a stunning display of creative lights and lanterns. This enchanting mix of traditional lanterns and futuristic technology is complemented by a variety of snack stalls and shops offering discounts throughout the holiday period.

Nantou Ancient Town 南头古城


The 1,700-year-old Nantou Ancient Town (also branded as Nantou City) has adopted kites as its Chinese New Year celebration theme this holiday, featuring a series of kite-themed public art activities. The town is adorned with a variety of beautiful kites, adding a fresh perspective to this centuries-old site.

Notably, the town blends traditional Chinese kite designs with modern aesthetics, offering exhibitions, pop-up stores, kite-flying games, kite-making workshops, and other interactive events.

Coastal City 海岸城


Wear your “League of Legends” costumes and explore the “League of Legends”-themed market outside the Coastal City shopping mall during the holiday. Discover the exclusive 2025 Year of the Snake game skins, stunning traditional Chinese palace lanterns, and a delightful array of tea drinks and snacks at the market featuring 22 stalls.

As night falls, enjoy the enchanting sight of lotus lamps adorning a pond, immersing yourself in a magical and festive atmosphere.

Dawan Ancestral Residence 大万世居


Dawan Ancestral Residence, built in the late 18th century by the Zeng family, is a large and well-preserved Hakka square compound located in Pingshan District. On the second day of the Chinese New Year, the descendants of the Zeng family will honor their ancestors in a 200-year-old ritual recognized as an intangible cultural heritage item. Kylin dances will be performed to bless the new year with good fortune.

Baywalk 滨海廊桥


Enjoy a walk along the 2-kilometer-long Baywalk bridge in Bao’an District, where you will admire illustrations celebrating Bao’an’s history, culture, and the 12 Chinese zodiac signs. Additionally, from Jan. 31 to Feb. 2, there will be live performances including shadow puppetry, Cantonese opera, and puppet shows from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

OH Bay 欢乐港湾 


Wear your most beautiful traditional Chinese outfit to experience a spectacular lantern show inspired by the beloved Chinese animation “Heaven Official’s Blessing” at OH Bay in Baoan District. This enchanting lantern display by the sea promises a unique and unforgettable experience for all.

Shenzhen Museum’s History and Folk Culture Division 深圳博物馆金田路馆(历史民俗)


This holiday, you don’t need to travel to Beijing to view rare artifacts from the National Museum of China — one of the country’s most visited museums — since it has brought a precious collection of ancient Chinese portrait paintings and souvenirs to Shenzhen. 


The exhibition showcases 131 portrait paintings created during the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties, featuring figures from imperial families, notable officials, and literati. Meanwhile, visitors who discover portraits of figures from the movie “Creation of the Gods II: Demon Force” at the exhibition will have a chance to win movie tickets and merch.


Additionally, another exhibition displays 120 ancient literature books from the Shenzhen Museum’s own collection.

To accompany the portrait exhibition, souvenirs from the National Museum of China and the Shenzhen Museum are available for purchase. Visitors can choose from a variety of unique items, such as an elegant pocket mirror inspired by a Ming Dynasty queen’s phoenix crown, a pour-over coffee maker set inspired by a Qing Dynasty vase, and aroma stones based on Maya goddess figurines.

Shenzhen Museum’s Ancient Art Division 深圳博物馆同心路馆(古代艺术)


An exhibition on the history of Guangdong pastry and baking techniques features traditional pastry molds, historical photos, and intangible cultural heritage certificates, vividly illustrating Guangdong people’s dedication to inheritance, innovation, and artisan spirit in baking. You can also purchase pastry gift boxes at the museum.

Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning 

深圳市当代艺术与城市规划馆


The “Penguin Island Exhibition of Tencent” provides a glimpse into Tencent’s global headquarters (currently under construction) in Dachan Bay. Other exhibits utilize XR, AI, motion capture, and other cutting-edge technologies to offer interactive experiences for visitors. Admission is free, but visitors need to book their visit in advance.

Three ticketed exhibitions offer diverse artistic experiences. “Art and Experimentation” features avant-garde technology art created by artists from China and France, including Julie Navarro, Matthieu Graffensttaden, and Laurence Auzière-Jourdan. 


Another exhibition showcases ancient artifacts and modern works related to Guan Gong, a prominent figure in Chinese history who is respected by generations for his loyalty, bravery, and righteousness. And Shenzhen artist Yang Yong’s solo exhibition reviews his three-decade career, showcasing more than 100 pieces of photography, paintings, and multimedia works.

Shenzhen Art Museum (new venue) 

深圳美术馆新馆


Eleven diverse exhibitions at the Shenzhen Art Museum in Longhua District feature traditional Chinese paintings, Chinese character art, creative design, paper-cutting, watercolors, and photography. Don’t miss Chinese master Li Keran's paintings, with the exhibition date extended to Feb. 16.

Among all the exhibitions, 10 are free to enter without tickets or reservations; the only exception is the “Dunhuang: A Realm of a Thousand Colors” extended reality location-based entertainment exhibition, which charges a fee.

Nanshan Museum 南山博物馆


Visitors can explore a rich collection of exquisite Chinese porcelains crafted in imperial kilns from the mid-17th to late 18th century at the “Refined Radiance of Imperial Porcelain” exhibition. 


Meanwhile, “The Path of Integration — The Migration and Development History of the Tuoba Xianbei” features over 160 cultural relics that unfold the history and culture of the Xianbei people, tracing their journey from the grassland to the central plains.

At Chinese artist Li Xiangqun’s contemporary sculpture exhibition, spectators will be immersed in a multi-faceted, multi-tiered artistic realm.

He Xiangning Art Museum 何香凝美术馆


Immerse yourself in the mesmerizing and stylish photos by Hungarian artist Flóra Borsi and the dazzling abstract paintings by Orsolya Áder at the “Order and Symbiosis: Hungarian Female Artists Joint Exhibition.” 


Admire elegant traditional Chinese paintings created by Chinese master He Xiangning and enjoy diverse works from various 20th-century Asian female artists. These three exhibitions will offer fresh and unique artistic experiences.

Guan Shanyue Art Museum 关山月美术馆


The Guan Shanyue Art Museum will organize several workshops for visitors to engage in a culturally rich holiday. The “Cultural Bay Area: Brilliant Intangible Heritage” exhibition showcases 337 intangible cultural heritage items from across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. 


Additionally, admire Chinese master Guan Shanyue’s vivid paintings of Chinese people’s lives at the “Landscape of the People” exhibition, and discover an array of creative cultural objects at a design exhibition.

Pingshan Art Museum 坪山美术馆


Chinese artist Xie Xiaoze’s “Amber of History: Reimagining the Library Cave at Dunhuang” exhibition offers visitors a unique experience of the Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes. The exhibition features ink paintings, sculptures, installations, a video, and a virtual reality (VR) experience.

Additionally, Chinese artist Wu Wei is showcasing 56 installations, sculptures, and videos in his “Wild Man Index” exhibition. For art enthusiasts who may have missed Pingshan Art Museum’s previous exhibitions, a review exhibition is now available to appreciate some outstanding exhibits as part of the art museum’s fifth anniversary celebration.

Pingshan Exhibition Gallery 坪山展览馆


The “Pompeii VR Exploration” exhibition provides visitors with an opportunity to travel back in time and immerse themselves in the ancient Roman city of Pompeii through an engaging VR experience.

Meanwhile, the “International Printmaking Master Constellation Theme Exhibition” showcases 144 printmaking works by 12 international artists, who use various techniques and artistic languages to explore the themes of the 12 zodiac signs. Both exhibitions are ticketed.

Art Museum of Guangming Culture and Art Center 光明文化艺术中心美术馆

Enter the magical world created by renowned French artist Serge Bloch, where anything can happen and the discovery of an ordinary line can lead to the most amazing adventures. The “Bonjour La Ligne (Dear Line)” exhibition, which requires tickets, showcases Bloch’s illustrations and installations. 


Meanwhile, Chinese artist Xu Jinlong’s “In-equation” free exhibition explores the relationship between art and technology from a philosophical perspective.

Sea World Culture and Arts Center 

海上世界文化艺术中心


The “Givernisme” exhibition focuses on French artist Jean-François Rauzier’s photographic series, highlighting an in-depth dialogue between Rauzier and Monet regarding impressionism. Rauzier is known for his digitally altered depictions of cities and landscapes, creating supernaturally detailed images that juxtapose multiple perspectives of a scene.

Meanwhile, a Pompeii-themed exhibition uncovers the hidden stories of the ancient Italian city and archaeological discoveries through photos, relics, and VR works. And the “Love Letter: Nana Ouyang 241042 Mini Album Exhibition” showcases graffiti, sculptures, installations, and videos created by young cellist and actress Nana Ouyang, along with collaborations with other artists. All the exhibitions require tickets.
