On the evening of October 27, 2024, a robbery attempt took place at a Chinese restaurant called "Liaoning Restaurant" in Flushing, Queens, New York.
Two Hispanic men broke into the restaurant intending to rob it. When their attempt failed, they began to vandalize the premises, using flower pots and bricks as weapons.
The restaurant staff fought back, resulting in serious injuries to the two intruders; one of them sustained a head injury with bleeding, while the other was also hurt.
The incident was captured on video, highlighting the courageous actions of a female employee who managed to restrain one of the robbers despite being unarmed.
Police eventually intervened, arresting both suspects, one of whom was found in possession of illegal drugs.
The suspects now face multiple charges, including robbery, assault, vandalism, and drug possession.
Additionally, four Chinese male employees who took part in the defense were also taken in for questioning by the police.
Following the incident, some netizens expressed outrage, with one saying, "Unbelievable! Did these two robbers think this was some lawless Wild West? They messed with the wrong people by choosing a Northeastern Chinese restaurant!" Another commented, "Look at these robbers! They dared to stir up trouble at a Northeastern restaurant without even considering Northeastern people’s temperament. Now they’ve landed themselves in the hospital and brought the police upon themselves.
