It is confirmed that WeChat is testing a new feature related to the friend limit. When a user's number of WeChat friends reaches the limit and the user wants to continue adding new friends, WeChat will pop up a prompt window. This window will display a list of contacts who have deleted you, allowing user to selectively remove these contacts to free up space for adding new friends. The maximum number of WeChat friends is 10,000.
Currenlty, this feature is available on iOS platform if updated to the latest version, Android version is under development.
Regarding how to check if you've been deleted by a WeChat friend, WeChat customer service has provided two suggestions:
You can send a message to the suspected friend. If the message cannot be sent or you receive a prompt saying the person is not a friend, they may have deleted you.
You can try inviting that friend to a group chat. If the invitation fails or you receive a similar prompt, it's likely they have deleted you.
