The center of this year's 21st typhoon, "Kong-rey" (Tropical Storm level), was located at 5 p.m. today (October 27) over the northwest Pacific Ocean, approximately 1,310 kilometers southeast of Hualien City, Taiwan Province, at latitude 16.8°N and longitude 131.6°E. The maximum wind speed near the center is 8 on the Beaufort scale (20 m/s), with a minimum central pressure of 995 hPa, and a wind radius of 300-450 kilometers for level 7 winds.
"Kong-rey" is expected to move in a west-northwest direction, then turn northwest at a speed of approximately 10-15 kilometers per hour, with gradually increasing intensity. It could strengthen to a severe typhoon or even a super typhoon (48-55 m/s, levels 15-16), gradually approaching the waters east of Taiwan.
As "Kong-rey" intensifies and moves closer to China, regions including Taiwan, Fujian, Zhejiang, and Shanghai are expected to experience strong winds and rain. These areas should stay closely updated on the storm's progress.
