On 22 July, Minister Watts attended the Eighth Ministerial on Climate Action (MoCA) meeting, where he spoke on a panel discussing “Adaptation, Resilience & Loss and Damage”. Minister Watts shared the work he is leading on New Zealand’s plan for climate adaptation based on the concept that mitigation and adaptation are both necessary to protect our people, economies, and communities from the impacts of climate change.
7月22日，沃茨部长出席了第八届气候行动部长级会议 (MoCA)，并在讨论“适应、恢复力和损失与损害”的小组讨论上发言。沃茨部长分享了他领导制定的新西兰气候适应计划的工作。
Minister Watts also had a productive meeting with Huang Runqiu, Chinese Minister of Ecology and the Environment. The pair exchanged views on New Zealand's and China's strategies on responding to climate change.

The MoCA meeting brought together ministers and high-level representatives from around the world to discuss shared priorities and build international momentum in advance of the 2024 UN Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC COP 29)

On 23 July, Minister Watts also visited Shanghai to support New Zealand businesses operating in the city. Sustainability is an increasingly important part of business – from supply chains to packaging to last mile delivery. Thanks to the New Zealand Business Roundtable in China for sharing their business sentiment survey insights on the long-term value New Zealand exporters see in China.
