1、rant and rave：talk loudly, often in anger 咆哮;大声叫嚷
①I don't rant and rave or throw tea cups. 我不会大喊大叫或摔茶杯。

最初最常见的是"sweep dirt/dust under the rug"，表示将灰尘扫到地毯下面(盖起来，以至于看上去干干净净的)。rug 也可以换成carpet, 但是前者更常用更常见。
