① If someone breaks into a building, they get into it by force.
② She finally broke into films after an acclaimed stage career. 她在取得舞台生涯的成功后，最终进入电影界发展。
5、spending money：pocket money；pin money；money for minor expenses 零花钱；零用钱
① We gave him$ 50 spending money for his school trip. 我们给他50美元的零用钱参加学校的旅行。
② She gets pin money by typing at home.她靠在家打字赚点零花钱。
6、foot the bill：pay；pick up the tab 买单；付帐；结账；承担费用；负担费用
结账的英文表达：pick up the bill、pay the bill、foot the bill、pony up、check please、 closing account、pay money、pay for、pay off、settle accounts。
① You order the dishes and I'll foot the bill. 你点菜，我来付账。

7、wine and dine：provide with food and drink, usually lavishly eat sumptuously；take sb. out for an evening oran expensive meal 大吃大喝；盛宴款待；设酒宴款待

② We were wined and dined at the firm's expense. 公司出钱请我们吃喝。
8、the cream of the crop：the best of a group 精英；百里挑一；最好的部分

9、be out of it：be not aware or knowledgeable about trendsor modern habits 不参与…，不插手，置身于…之外。因被排斥在某集体之外而感到难过
有个常见用法是snap out of it，突然振作起来、清醒过来
① Come on, snap out of it! 嗨，别愁眉苦脸了，振作起来！
② Please stay out of my business and I'll stay out of yours. 请别管我的事，我也不管你的事。
③The meeting went on late and he wanted to get out of it soon. 会开得太晚了，他想早点离开。
Note: “Out of it” also means “confused”or“disoriented.”
eg. After staying up all night studying, Ted felt out of it the next day.
10、be on a winning streak：a series of wins 连胜； 在一段时间中连续成功
eg. With Yao Ming, I know we will go on a winning streak.有了姚明，我觉得我们会迎来连胜。
streak 条纹：条痕：(尤指体育比赛或赌博中)顺的时候，背的时候，运气，手气；(尤指不好的)性格特征
11、Big deal (常用作反语)至关重要的大事；了不起的事情
① Big deal! 多大点儿事，没啥了不起。
② Come on, it's no big deal, all right? 我说，也不是什么大事，对不？
③ Everyone said this is a big-deal movie. 人人都说这是一部大制作的电影。
