Prof. Maria Pina Limongelli is currently Associate Professor of Structural and Seismic Engineering at Politecnico di Milano and Guest Professor of Digital Structural Health Monitoring and Integrity Management at Lund University in Sweden. She holds a PhD in Seismic and Structural Engineering.
Her primary research interests are in the field of Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) of civil structures with a specific focus on vibration-based and remote monitoring, Value of Information, and SHM Standardization. She is the author of more than 250 scientific peer-reviewed papers on these topics.
She serves on the editorial board of several international peer reviewed journals including SHM Journal, Journal of Civil SHM, Engineering Structures, Bulleting of Earthquake Engineering.
She coordinates the activities of several committees and associations in the field of SHM and structural engineering. Among other roles, she is vice-president of IABSE and ISHMII, president of EVACES, JCSS reporter.
She coordinates or participates in several national and international research projects on Structural Health Monitoring, digitalization, and resilience of bridge integrity management.
