今天距离2024年总统选举仅剩一周，随着大选日临近，两位候选人正在全国各地奔走，专注于关键的摇摆州。
之前学《经济学人》学到过苏州古城区的水道纵横，就用到过crisscross：
英文：If a person or thing criss-crosses an area, they travel from one side to the other and back again many times, following different routes. If a number of things criss-cross an area, they cross it, and cross over each other.
指在某个区域内反复穿行，形成类似十字交叉或网络的路径，表示来回奔走。
词源：源于“cross”，表示十字形，早期用来描述交错的路径或线条图案，后演变为穿越或交错移动。
Crossroad 🛣️：n. 十字路口，表示路径交汇或十字形道路的交叉点。
Crosswalk 🚶：n. 人行横道，常用于道路交汇处，供行人穿越。
替换表达：
Traverse：穿越，行经。

neck and neck最早来自赛马比赛中，用于形容马头并排、不分前后的局面，类似于“齐头并进”。
我们还可以用“in a dead heat”：
The two candidates are in a dead heat in the polls.两名候选人在民意测验中势均力敌。
deadlock来自“dead”（停止的）+“lock”（锁住），意指一种被“锁住”的状态，无法前进。
替换表达：
stalemate ⚔️：僵局或停滞不前的局面。
impasse 🚧：绝境或进展的阻碍。
注意下用法哦：
deadlock 和 deadlocked 都表示“僵局”或“停滞”的状态，但在用法上略有区别：
1️⃣ deadlock (名词)
释义：指两方势均力敌或互相抵触，导致无法前进或做出决策的局面（a complete failure to reach agreement or settle an argument ）。
2️⃣ deadlocked (形容词)
释义：在用法上，它属于“[not before noun]”，即一般不放在名词前修饰，而是用于表述状态。用来形容处于僵局状态的事物或人，表示“被困于僵局”。
搭配：
Candidates are deadlocked：
候选人势均力敌。
Despite months of discussion the negotiations remained deadlocked.
尽管已讨论数月，谈判仍僵持不下。
