In the vast universe, Earth stands out with its unique miracle of life, shining brightly. On this blue planet, every corner is brimming with vitality and energy, and nature is an endless treasure waiting for us to explore and discover. On this magical land, there is a group of creatures that, although tiny, influence the entire world in their unique ways—they are insects.
Insects, these tiny residents of nature, may often be overlooked in our daily lives, but they are an essential part of the Earth's ecological balance. They dance among flowers with their colorful wings, traverse the soil with their peculiar forms, and emit faint yet determined chirps in the grass at night; their roles in nature are irreplaceable.
With curiosity about the unknown and reverence for nature, children embark on "Bug Encounters"—a career study trip themed "Me in the Future" at YKI. Following in the footsteps of the children, we transform into zoologists to explore the habits of insects, observe their unique structures, feel the survival wisdom they display, and appreciate the unique splendor of nature's microscopic world.
Arriving at the gate of Wuhan Pet Alliance, the children's excitement was palpable. They were about to embark on a wonderful journey of close encounters with "magical creatures."
"Are you ready? We're going to meet our little friends," the teacher's voice was filled with anticipation, and the children's eyes sparkled with curiosity.

Guided by the teacher, the children cautiously entered the reptile area. The teacher first introduced some basic characteristics of reptiles, such as how their body temperature changes with the environmental temperature, and how they breathe through their skin.
"Now, let's touch them and feel their skin," the teacher encouraged the children to extend their little hands and gently touch snakes and lizards. The children's faces showed a mix of nervousness and excitement as they took turns feeling the cold, smooth skin of these animals. Some were surprised to find that the texture of these creatures was not as scary as they had imagined.
"Did you know? Snakes, lizards, and humans all have an endoskeleton," the teacher continued to explain, "This means our bones are on the inside, not like insects, whose exoskeletons are on the outside." The children listened with great interest, beginning to understand that although snakes and lizards look very different from us, we share similarities with them in some aspects.
During the exploration, the children not only learned about reptiles but also how to respect and care for these animals. They learned that although snakes and lizards might seem scary, they are an important part of nature, with their own ways of living and ecological value.
As the activity progressed, the children's courage grew, and they began to ask questions actively, sharing their observations and feelings with the teacher and other children. The reptile area turned into a paradise filled with laughter, knowledge exchange, and satisfaction of curiosity, expanding their worldview.

Stepping into the world of insects was like opening a living natural encyclopedia; their curiosity was ignited, and they were greeted with a colorful insect feast.
Insects are the most diverse animals on Earth, with a wide variety of forms and colors. Butterflies are part of the Lepidoptera order, and their wings are covered with tiny scales, which resemble a gorgeous garment, making them look so beautiful.
Next, the teacher showed a beetle with a hard and shiny exoskeleton. The children observed curiously, some even gently tapping the beetle's shell. "This is a Coleoptera insect; their front wings harden into elytra to protect their delicate hind wings and body," the teacher explained.
The children learned how to differentiate between Coleoptera and Lepidoptera insects and understood the diversity and importance of insects in nature. The teacher encouraged the children to ask questions, and they eagerly shared their discoveries.
"Teacher, how do butterflies fly?" "Butterflies fly by rapidly flapping their wings; their wings are very light, allowing them to dance in the air." "Why do beetles have a hard shell?" "The hard shell of a beetle helps protect them from predators and reduces water loss."
The children's laughter and exclamations rose and fell as they explored this insect world, each child becoming a little entomologist, their eyes sparkling with a thirst for knowledge and reverence for nature.

"Do you know what's different between spiders and mantises?" the teacher asked mysteriously, the children's little minds filled with questions as they curiously gathered around the teacher, awaiting the answer.
The teacher took out a furry spider, and the children's eyes were immediately drawn to it. "Spiders are not insects, oh no, they belong to the Arachnida class, and their most distinctive feature is that they have eight legs!" The children's mouths opened wide in surprise; they had never thought that spiders were not insects.
The children learned how to differentiate between insects and non-insects and understood the basic concepts of biological classification. Through observation and comparison, they discovered that although spiders and mantises are both arthropods, they have distinct differences in body structure and habits.
This study trip allowed the children to experience the world of insects and reptiles firsthand. They not only learned how to distinguish between insects and non-insects but also learned about the classification and characteristics of insects. More importantly, they learned how to coexist harmoniously with nature and respect every life, no matter how big or small.
"Today, I saw so many bugs I didn't know before; they are really amazing!" "My favorite was that big beetle; its shell was so hard, like a warrior in armor!" The children chattered about their study trip experiences.
The children's hearts were sown with the seed of exploration. We look forward to them continuing their journey of life's adventure in the days to come, armed with the knowledge they learned today and their love for nature, to discover more of the world's secrets.
