Lumbar Disc Replacement
腰椎间盘置换术
If you have lower back pain caused by a severely damaged disc, your healthcare provider may advise you to have a lumbar disc replacement.
如果严重椎间盘损伤导致患者出现腰痛，医生可能建议行腰椎间盘置换术。
Your lumbar spine is made up of five bones. Each one is called a vertebra. These vertebrae protect your lower spinal cord. Between each vertebra is a soft cushion of tissue called an intervertebral disc.
腰椎由 5 块骨组成。每一块都称为椎骨。这些椎骨保护下脊髓。每块椎骨间都有称为椎间盘的软组织垫。
Healthy discs provide enough height between vertebrae to allow your lower back to bend and absorb pressure. As you get older, the discs can dry out, bulge, and become less flexible.
健康椎间盘赋予椎骨间足够的高度，使人体下背部弯曲并吸收压力。随着衰老，椎间盘变干、凸出，韧性减小。
A bulging disc can press against your spinal nerves. Pressure on spinal nerves can cause pain in the back and legs. As the disc gets worse, small growths called bone spurs may form on the vertebrae above and below it.
凸出的椎间盘会压迫脊神经。脊神经受压迫会导致背部和腿部疼痛。随着椎间盘凸出加重，椎间盘上方和下方的椎骨上可能形成称为骨刺的小增生物。
Bone spurs may also pinch your spinal nerves. This can make your legs feel weak and numb.
骨刺也可能挤压脊神经。这会导致腿无力和麻木感。
To start the procedure, an incision will be made in your abdomen. After reaching your lumbar spine, the surgeon will remove the worn-out disc.
手术开始时，医生将在患者腹部做一个切口。到达腰椎后，医生将切除磨损的椎间盘。
Next, the surgeon will scrape tissue off the vertebrae above and below to expose the bone. Then, the man-made disc will be inserted and attached to the bone.
接下来，医生将刮除椎间盘上方和下方椎骨上的组织，暴露骨。然后，插入人工椎间盘，并附于骨上。
At the end of the procedure, your skin incision will be closed with sutures or surgical glue.
手术最后，医生将使用缝合线或手术胶缝合或闭合切口。
After the procedure, you may have less back pain and you may be able to move your back more easily.
手术后，患者的背痛减轻，能够更容易地活动背部。
