Background 项目背景
Save the Children (SC) has been implementing projects in China since the 1980s. The China Programme was relocated to Kunming in 1995 and Beijing in 1999. When the Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Administration of Activities of Overseas Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in the Mainland of China came into force from January 1, 2017, SC was one of the first organizations to renew its registration in accordance with the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Administration of Activities of Overseas Non-Governmental Organizations within the Territory of China.
In terms of the work on youth development, SC has been implementing youth empowerment programmes for vulnerable young women and men since 2012. We started the first Adolescent Skills for Successful Transitions (ASST) project in Shanghai targeted at technical and vocational education and training (TVET) students, and gradually expanded the programme to Jiangsu Province, Guangdong Province, Sichuan Province, Yunnan Province and Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. Ten years' rich experience in operating youth empowerment programme across the country makes SC a leading organization in China to enhance the resilience of young women and men who are from migrant, rural or low-income families.
The current phase of the programme runs from 2022 to 2024 in Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong Province and Sichuan Province respectively.
Consultant Tasks 顾问任务
From October 2024 to March 2025 (6 month), the consultant is expected to support the youth development programme team to manage and implement the Youth Development projects in Shanghai.
Major tasks include:
· To support Youth Development project management and implementation in Shanghai and surrounding area, contributing to design, planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and partnership building.
· To provide technical support and work with partners on implementing the project, organizing activities and strengthening partners’ capacity to enable project sustainability.
· To support to maintain relationships with different local stakeholders, including government, NGOs, local corporates order to strengthen project work and to share resources in the interests of greater efficiency and effectiveness.
· To support high quality donor reports and funding proposals.
· To perform such other tasks and responsibilities as may be required from time to time in order to ensure the smooth running of the team.
Qualifications 职位要求
A professional qualification at least bachelor degree or equivalent in a related subject such as education, social work, psychology, sociology, development, communication, advertising and or other related subject.
Experience and Skills 经验与技能
· The minimum level of education acceptable is a bachelor’s degree in social sciences or a related field.
· Proven at least 1 year working experience in social work, NGO, international development or relevant sector is required.
· Proven experiences in leading activities organization, budget management, private sector engagement, experts and multi-stakeholders coordination and reports preparation.
· Strong communication and time management, analytical, negotiation skills, and willingness to communicate with people of different backgrounds.
· Fluent in English and Mandarin, both speaking and writing.
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software package (MS Excel, Word, Sharepoint, etc.).
