学术写作分析



We are looking this week at different ways businesses market their products and services especially nontraditional methods. One thing that marketers pay close attention to is online reviews of their products. A business might include customer reviews on their website or carefully monitor the reviews on third-party sites. I would like you to discuss your own experiences with online reviews. Do you find them useful when deciding whether or not to buy a product or service? Why or why not?



 

I think online reviews are a great source of information because they are written by ordinary customers who are like me. For instance, when I read a restaurant review by a professional food critic, I'm not interested in some of the details that are included, like how the food is prepared. I'm more interested in aspects like the quality of the food and the service, which regular customers usually comment on.


 

To me, online reviews have some real problems. First, people are more likely to post reviews after a bad experience than after a good one. As a result, what you read is often weighted toward the negative. Also, you have no way of knowing whether reviewers know what they are talking about or even if they actually bought and used the product they are reviewing.

题目是,当你要购买一个产品/服务的时候,你觉得网络上的买家留言有用吗?

这个题目比较简单,大家完全结合自己生活中的经历来分析。我相信很多同学都会看其他买家的留言,原因是比较真实可信。

I agree with Claire's perspective that reading online reviews is invaluable when choosing products. Reviews, often penned by ordinary consumers, offer genuine insights, contrasting with some influencers who might exaggerate quality for paid endorsements(代言). For instance, when I was in search of a new computer, I delved into various online forums and review sites. Many users praised the latest Mac for its lightweight design, user-friendly interface, and robust performance. Specific reviews from business travelers emphasized its portability and reliability, qualities vital for someone like me, who is constantly on the move for work. Their experiences resonated with my needs, leading me to choose the Mac. Upon purchase, it met my expectations in every way, proving that online reviews are an invaluable tool in informed purchasing decisions. The firsthand accounts provided a depth of understanding that transcended flashy advertisements, reinforcing that customer reviews are essential for selecting products that truly fit one's needs.
