Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU)'s Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Supporting Learning in Higher Education (PGCert) is currently the only master's programme in teacher development in China accredited by Advance HE.University teachers are welcome to participate in the PGCert programme.
Introduction of the PGCert Programme
This programme is designed for experienced teaching staff and it also forms part of the University’s strategy towards a professional approach to teaching in Higher Education as well as for staff newer to teaching in Higher Education. It links practice, evidence, and theory and is underpinned by reflection. Participants undertaking the programme will have the opportunity to develop their practice through a process of evaluating their own teaching experiences and the learning of their students. Participants will also have the opportunity to share and compare pedagogy from various academic disciplines. Upon completion, participants will receive an XJTLU Award with pathways to Fellowship with Advance HE.
Aim of the PGCert Programme Offered by XJTLU
To provide the knowledge and the skills needed to support student learning in higher education.
To provide opportunities for reflection on learning and teaching in a transnational context through English as a medium of instruct.
To engage participants with opportunities for linking excellence in research with high-quality teaching.
To introduce participants to higher education quality assurance frameworks and enhancement support.
To engage participants in developing their understanding of the effective and appropriate use of educational technologies that support learning and teaching.

We are delighted to notify you that the new PGCert programme will be launched from the 2nd semester February 2025. XJTLU would like to invite you to join our New PGCert Program Orientation Session to explore important details of the program and meet Module Leaders.
In this session, you will be able to know program enrollment and registration, module features, plans and the length of the study, outcomes and certificates, etc. Also, participants are encouraged to try out the first semester at no cost but some fee if you decide to continue.
