本期分享将于2024年11月分在多伦多举行的”社会科学历史协会“(SSHA)年会上几场专题讨论活动的信息。这些活动是为了缅怀原密歇根大学社会学家徐晓宏教授而组织的。欢迎有兴趣的朋友们关注。

2024年11月1日,在多伦多召开的社会科学历史协会(SSHA)年会将举办四场纪念徐晓宏教授的专题研讨会。这四场研讨会在徐晓宏的主要研究领域——社会理论、文革和改革、中国革命、比较历史方法论——邀请学者报告学术论文,并与他的著作展开对话。四场的主题分别是Class, Culture, and Contingency in Historical Sociology,Historicizing the Cultural Revolution and the Reform, The Long Chinese Revolution in Comparative Perspective, Comparative Historical Methodology and China Studies。来自社会学、历史学、政治学、法学等多个学科的二十余位学者将参会讨论。

徐晓宏教授生前通过研究二十世纪中国多个历史时期——共产主义运动的兴起、抗日战争、文革和改革开放——发展出对历史社会学、社会理论和比较历史方法论等方面深刻的认识。他在学术上的雄心壮志和执着探索,在其不幸英年早逝后,更显得弥足珍贵而值得研讨和弘扬。晓宏生前与诸多社会学者、历史学者、政治学者、人类学者、法学者等的思想交往和学术情谊,也还在持续不断地激发一个历史社会科学共同体的成长。
