On September 20, 2024, the Sub-Session on International Relations of the 8th Taihe Civilizations Forum (TCF) will be held in Beijing. Initiated by Taihe Institute in 2017, the TCF has hosted over a thousand Chinese and international guests from political, business, and academic worlds. It has facilitated extensive, in-depth, forward-looking, and constructive discussions to promote harmonious and sustainable development for human society, therefore it's been established as a reputable platform for international exchanges.
The theme of this year's Sub-Session on International Relations is "Navigating the Changing International Political and Economic Landscape for Security and Development." Currently, the international landscape is experiencing profound and complex changes. Geopolitics is increasingly significant in major power relations, with a growing trend toward intensified bloc politics and confrontations, and the Ukraine and Gaza conflicts could escalate further. These developments may widen global divisions and escalate risk factors for world peace and security.Simultaneously, the global economy remains sluggish, with rising unilateralism and protectionism, alongside the spread of de-globalization, which leaves industrial and supply chains highly vulnerable. The impact of emerging industries like artificial intelligence (AI) on humanity remains uncertain. How should we respond to these global challenges? How can we maintain world peace and stability while promoting global development and prosperity? These have become major concerns for the international community, calling for practical solutions. We believe that this sub-session will share inspiring insights, build consensus, and explore practical ways to enhance security and development for all.The speakers for the sub-session are as follows.
