A school vice-principal in China has ignited public outrage after it was revealed that she had an extramarital affair with a former male student over a period of five years. The affair, which involved the vice-principal, Xie Jiaxiong, and the former student, identified only by his surname He, came to light when He accused Xie of soliciting over 700,000 yuan from him in money and gifts during their relationship.

The controversy began when He, now an adult and professionally successful, sought repayment from Xie, who had allegedly rejected his requests and instead accused him of sexual assault. In a video shared online, He detailed their relationship, claiming that Xie had been his secondary school teacher and that the two had been romantically involved after he graduated. Despite being married, Xie reportedly pursued He, and their affair lasted almost five years, during which they engaged in sexual activities at various locations, including hotels and residences.

The relationship was characterized by affectionate messages from Xie, in which she referred to He as “Daddy,” “Love Daddy,” and “Love Husband,” expressing her desire to have a child with him. However, when He experienced financial difficulties and requested repayment, Xie allegedly refused and filed a false claim against him.

The allegations prompted He to file a formal complaint to the local education authorities. In response, the Ningxiang Education Bureau conducted an investigation, leading to Xie’s reassignment from her position as vice-principal. The education bureau issued a statement emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy towards misconduct in the education sector and announced that Xie would be removed from her position and reassigned to a different work unit.

The case has sparked heated debate online, with many criticizing Xie’s actions and questioning the severity of her punishment. Some argued that her dismissal was insufficient, given her role as an educator. Others, however, have raised doubts about He’s motives, suggesting that if money had not been involved, the relationship might have continued.
