A Beijing tourist's heartfelt attempt to reconnect with a mystery woman he met at Hong Kong Disneyland has sparked online debate, with some netizens criticizing his approach and Disney's response.

On December 13, 2024, the man, in his thirties, visited Hong Kong Disneyland and encountered a woman at Mystic Manor who left a lasting impression. According to his letter to Disney, it was the first time he experienced a true sense of "love at first sight." However, hesitancy prevented him from striking up a conversation, and he eventually lost sight of her in the crowd.

The woman, accompanied by a female friend, was described as being in her twenties, standing 160-165 cm tall, with short black hair, wearing a blue sweater, a dark over-the-knee skirt, and black leather shoes. Hoping to reconnect, the man reached out to Disney for assistance in identifying her.

Disney’s response, however, was a standard template email expressing regret for being unable to provide the requested information, citing privacy concerns. The email ended with, "We wish you a magical day," which some found ironic given the man’s disappointment.

The story quickly gained traction online, eliciting a mix of ridicule and sympathy. Many netizens criticized the man for his actions, labeling them as obsessive and inappropriate.

One commenter wrote, "No wonder he’s single - this is exactly why." Another added, "This seems more like a publicity stunt than a genuine attempt. I can’t imagine a 30-year-old writing something so ridiculous."

Some voiced concern for the woman, saying, "It’s scary to think someone might go to such lengths to track you down. She’s lucky she escaped unnoticed." Another commenter bluntly stated, "Stalking is illegal. Just because someone doesn’t reciprocate doesn’t mean you should resort to such measures."

The man has not made further public statements, and it remains unclear whether he plans to continue his search. For now, his story serves as a cautionary tale about the complexities of modern relationships and the importance of respecting privacy in a digital age.

As one commenter aptly summarized, "Some moments are best left as memories - cherish them and move on."
