Police in Vietnam's Quang Nam province are investigating the mysterious deaths of two foreigners at a tourist villa in Hội An. A British woman, aged 33, was found lifeless in room 101, while a South African man, aged 36, was discovered in room 201.

The tragic discovery was made on December 26, at around 11:15 AM, when villa staff reported the incidents. Both individuals had been residing in the villa since July 2024, under long-term temporary residence registrations.

Upon arrival, authorities conducted a thorough investigation of the scene. Initial findings revealed no visible signs of injuries or external force on either body. However, several empty liquor bottles were found in the rooms.

The provincial police have since cordoned off the area and ordered autopsies to determine the cause of death. Investigators are treating the incident as suspicious but have yet to release further details.

The incident has drawn attention online, with netizens speculating about potential causes. Some questioned the role of alcohol, while others expressed concern over the safety of long-term travelers. "It’s tragic to hear about such cases. Hopefully, authorities can uncover the truth," one user commented.

This case follows another tragic incident involving a British tourist in Thailand, who reportedly died after consuming hallucinogenic mushrooms. The 25-year-old suffered a severe reaction to the substance, prompting Thai authorities to launch a crackdown on illegal drug sales.
