This year’s chrysanthemum exhibition features over 300 varieties, with more than 600 pots of decorative chrysanthemums and over 200 pots of artistic chrysanthemums, totaling over 30,000 pots on display. The popular one-headed chrysanthemums, showcased annually, attract many photography enthusiasts; this year, nearly 300 varieties are presented, each with labeled plaques for easy identification.
In addition to the popular styled chrysanthemums from previous years, new artistic forms have been added, including miniature potted chrysanthemums, mixed chrysanthemum trees, lollipop shapes, tiny stars, triple mushroom shapes, little yellow ducks, and squirrels. The exhibit also showcases a new, highly resistant, low-maintenance variety, the “Jinglin” series, inviting visitors to enjoy and explore.
The main exhibition area stretches from the south gate of Zhongshan Park along Cherry Blossom Avenue, Ginkgo Road, and extends to the north gate of the zoo, forming a circular exhibit area. Seasonal flowers such as veronica, statice, bougainvillea, salvia, and ornamental grasses are paired with artistic installations to create more than 20 scenic spots, including the “A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains” mural, flower waterfall, sunset glow, running snail, and chrysanthemum pavilion.Traditional Chinese-Style Performances and Garden Market with Surprises
During the exhibition, a garden market is set up in the Osmanthus Square, featuring chrysanthemum potted plants, cultural products, chrysanthemum tea, and heritage “mystery boxes.” Elements of camping and rural harvests enhance the experience, allowing visitors to enjoy, appreciate, sample, and shop all in one place.Additionally, traditional Chinese activities such as Song Dynasty-style clothing performances, lantern riddles, archery games, and tea breaks will be held along Cherry Blossom Avenue, inviting visitors to interact and feel transported to ancient times. It promises a refined and elegant experience, allowing the public to enjoy the beauty of chrysanthemums in a unique cultural setting.
