On November 5, the “2024 Qingdao International Art Exhibition” opened at the V-Exit Art Museum in Laoshan District, continuing its mission to cultivate an art festival that reflects Qingdao’s unique character. This year’s exhibition brings together multiple interconnected, yet individually curated art sections, each resonating with the event’s overarching theme.
As a young, dynamic city shaped by its immigrant and tourism base, Qingdao offers a natural foundation for this year’s curatorial focus, exploring the richness of intercultural exchange. Led by chief curator Lin Zhu and supported by distinguished experts Wang Huangsheng, Lin Jichang, Li Ming, and Xiao Xin, the exhibition has chosen “World Narratives · Private Whispers” as its guiding theme. In response to both domestic and global economic contexts, this year’s exhibition highlights how art can engage with contemporary societal realities, promoting a compassionate, hopeful, and responsive perspective on life.Running from November 5 through December 15, the exhibition includes a variety of exhibitions, with the main venue at the V-Exit Art Museum. Now in its fourth year, the Qingdao International Art Exhibition has previously been held successfully from 2021 to 2023, establishing itself as one of Qingdao’s “Annual Cultural Excellence Projects” and earning broad recognition both locally and internationally.Positioned as an international art event with a unique Qingdao perspective, the Qingdao International Art Exhibition seeks to present and introduce outstanding works by renowned global artists while also uncovering and celebrating local talent. By fostering cross-cultural exchange and creating a new platform for international cooperation, the exhibition acts as an “art bridge,” connecting diverse cultures and establishing an enriching dialogue across borders.QINGDAO INTERNATIONAL ART EXHIBITIONMain Exhibition Venue
