Teachers at Qs School are always actively engaged in teaching and learning to ensure a wonderful experience for their students. They meet regularly to discuss how they can enhance learning outcomes. These meetings are always collaborative, and wonderful opportunities for new and experienced teachers to reflect, share strategies and practice, and continuously learn.



Qs School,教学是一项真正的团队合作。教师们在课前及课后付出大量努力,确保每堂课都能为学生带来新的收获。近期会议上,Qs的老师们围绕如何在学期初期确保有效教学进行了深入的交流。老师们强调,作为各自学科的“推广者”,应鼓励学生积极反馈,突出课堂互动的重要性,帮助学生从彼此的学习中获益。


此外,老师们还提到要提前为班级的小组活动做好准备,明确每节课和作业的目标,以促进班级内部的良性竞争和归属感。这种合作精神不仅提升了教学效果,也增强了学生的参与感和学习动力。


Teaching at Qs School truly is a team effort and teachers work very hard behind the scenes for their students. There is always something new to be learnt! Teachers recently shared strategies to ensure effective teaching at the beginning of a new and very busy term. Teachers emphasised it was imperative to be the salespeople of their subjects, encourage and praise student responses, stress the importance of the time classes spend together and learning from one another, prepare for important student group work, make lesson and homework purposes explicit, and build healthy competition as well as belonging in all of their classes. Teachers will continue to meet regularly to discuss how they can enhance teaching quality and effectiveness for all students at Qs School.



在上周会议上,中学英文Sean老师特别提到Level 8英语与写作课程中的一个成功案例。该课程近期通过对哥特文学大师埃德加·爱伦·坡(Edgar Allan Poe)作品的深入学习,极大地激发了学生的学习兴趣与创造力。在对坡的短篇小说《告密心》(The Tell-Tale Heart)的研究中,学生们不仅学到了坡独特的叙事风格和文学手法,还通过模仿讲述者的声音展现了他们的表演才能。学生们分析了作品中的内外部冲突,探讨了罪恶感与良心的力量。老师们相信,这种深入的文学分析将帮助学生在未来更好地创作叙事文本。


During the meeting, Sean shared a successful example from the L8 English and Writing course. L8 English and Writing students have been recently amazed by the work of Edgar Allen Poe. Poe was a master of gothic literature and considered to be the architect of the modern short story. Students were on the edge of their seats when they studied The Tell Tale-Heart. Many students also demonstrated their performance skills as they acted out the narrator’s voice. Students studied Poe’s style of writing, important literary devices, narrative voice and mood. Students learnt about internal and external conflicts as well as the power of guilt and conscience. Poe’s writing includes strange and bizarre characters, mysterious happenings and rhetorical patterns. There is no doubt that the L8 students’ study of Poe will enhance their ability to analyse and write their own narrative texts in the future!
