Teachers at Qs School are always actively engaged in teaching and learning to prepare their students for future challenges. An especially important part of the role of our teachers is to prepare students for exams. Our teachers participated in a professional development opportunity recently related to exam preparation. Teachers learnt new methodology as well as shared their successful practice related to scholarships, selective schools, end of semester exams and VCE.
Teachers stressed the importance of teaching their students:

·How to understand exam questions and break them down
·Metacognition
·Time management
·Efficiency
·Mind-mapping
·How to support responses with evidence
·How to understand and use teacher feedback
·Exam expectations and rules

The meeting was collaborative, and a wonderful opportunity for new and experienced teachers to continuously learn and exchange strategies to support their students in future exam success! Teachers were excited to use the new strategies with their students. Teachers will continue to meet regularly to discuss how they can enhance teaching quality and effectiveness for all students at Qs School.
