让家长成为孩子教育的积极参与者是国际文凭组织(IB)小学项目(PYP)的基石之一。最近,三亚外国语学校附属第二幼儿园举办了本学年的第三期家长工作坊,旨在加深家长对IB-PYP学习者培养目标的理解,并为他们提供实用的策略进而支持孩子的发展。这次工作坊不仅为PYP框架提供了有价值的见解,而且还培养了家长、教师和学生之间的社区意识。

Empowering parents to become active partners in their child's education is a cornerstone of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP). Recently in SLSK 2, a parent workshop was held with the aim of deepening parental understanding of the IB PYP Learner Profile and equipping them with practical strategies to support their child's development. This workshop not only provided valuable insights into the PYP framework but also fostered a sense of community among parents, educators, and students.

工作坊开始时,杨园长和PYP协调员Anup先生向家长们表示了热烈的欢迎,并介绍了制定IB PYP学习者培养目标的主要原则。从积极探究到勤于思考,从善于交流到勇于尝试,这些特质是孩子们全面发展和进行探究学习的基础。通过互动演示、创新游戏和反思小组讨论,家长们全面了解了如何在学生身上培养这些特质,以及将家庭实践与学校价值观保持一致的重要性。

As the workshop commenced, parents were greeted with a warm welcome by Ms Kirra (Principal) and Mr Anup (PYP Coordinator) and an introduction to the key principles of the IB PYP Learner Profile. From inquirers to thinkers, communicators to risk-takers, these attributes serve as the foundation for a holistic and inquiry-based approach to education. Through interactive presentations, innovative games and reflective group discussions, parents gained a comprehensive understanding of how these attributes are cultivated within students and the importance of aligning home practices with school values.

工作坊的亮点之一是互动环节,家长们通过参与一系列的动手实践活动明白了每个特质在孩子成长过程中的重要性。通过角色扮演、合作和反思性的讨论,家长们获得了这些培养目标如何从小支持培养幼儿的批判性思维、创造力和同理心等技能的第一手经验。

One of the highlights of the workshop was the interactive sessions where parents engaged in hands-on activities designed to showcase the importance of each attribute in their child's development. Through role-playing exercises, collaborative and reflective discussions, parents gained first hand experience of how the IB PYP Learner Profile fosters skills such as critical thinking, creativity, and empathy from an early age.

工作坊最具影响力的部分是家长有机会看到IB PYP学习者培养目标的落地证据。整个过程中,幼儿课堂上学习的场景和教室里探索的瞬间无一不体现了孩子们在学习旅程探索中的积极参与。从进行科学实验到创作艺术作品,从自然拼读课到UOI主题课,每个瞬间都反映出了从小培养学习者特征属性的重要性。

But perhaps the most impactful aspect of the workshop was the opportunity for parents to see evidence of the IB PYP Learner Profile in action. Throughout the session, pictures and captured moments of learning and exploration in the Early Years classroom, showcasing children as active participants in their own learning journey. From conducting science based experiments to creating works of art, from phonics class to UOI theme class, each snapshot served as a testament to the importance of nurturing the attributes of the Learner Profile from a young age.

对许多家长来说,孩子的学习热情和好奇心在照片中变得鲜活起来的同时,也在一定程度上暗示他们在支持孩子的教育旅程中所扮演的角色。正如一位家长所说:“当我们的孩子有机会去探索和询问时,他们所能展现的能力是令人惊奇的。”

For many parents, seeing their child's enthusiasm and curiosity come to life in these images was a powerful reminder of the role they play in supporting their child's educational journey. As one parent remarked, "It's amazing to see how much our children are capable of when given the opportunity to explore and inquire."

工作坊的影响远不局限于工作坊本身。家长们不仅获得了新知和灵感,同时他们还相信自己拥有了能够创造培养这些学习者培养目标的优质家庭环境。从建立以探究为基础的学习体验到鼓励开放式对话,相信每一位家长都迫不及待地想将自己的学习付诸实践。

But the impact of the workshop extended far beyond just a single session. Armed with newfound knowledge and inspiration, parents left the workshop feeling empowered to create a home environment that fosters the attributes of the IB PYP Learner Profile. From setting up inquiry-based learning experiences to encouraging open-ended conversations, they were eager to put their learning into practice.

虽然工作坊结束了,但是真正的实践旅程才刚刚开始。有了对IB PYP学习者培养目标的新理解,以及培养孩子的共同承诺,我们相信家长们已经准备好了与我们一同踏上这段旅程。我们深知,当他们这样做时,他们不仅在塑造自己孩子的未来,而且是在为一代充满好奇心、富有同情心、准备好迎接世界的终身学习者铺平道路。

As the curtains closed on the parent workshop, it was clear that the journey had only just begun. But armed with a newfound understanding of the IB PYP Learner Profile and a shared commitment to nurturing these attributes in their children, parents were ready to embark on this journey together. And as they did, they knew that they were not only shaping the future of their own children but also paving the way for a generation of lifelong learners who are curious, compassionate, and ready to take on the world.
