*CEM:全称Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring,是世界权威的研究机构,由剑桥大学考评院和剑桥大学出版社共同所有,为各年龄段的学生提供形成性测评。
*GSE:全球英语水平测试标准
每个项目,都以数据、级别进行细分评估
同时,学生可以与爸爸妈妈、老师们面对面
一起规划实现这些目标的有效做法

How is your child doing academically?
Midterms, final exams, and university applications etc.
Parents tend to evaluate children's academic performance by simply judging from their grades.
However, exam results alone often fail to provide
a complete picture of a child's learning progress or potential.
Behind the scores are factors like a child's evolving mindset, level of knowledge mastery, study habits and specific needs.
So how can parents and schools
provide a precise and prompt support?
In this post, we'll continue our exploration of
Harrow LiDe schools, taking a closer look at how AISL Harrow's personalised academic assessment system
employs continuous data collection, analysis, and goal-setting to ensure that students, teachers, parents
and schools are on the same page
helping students build confidence, reduce anxiety about scores, and make academic progress steadily.
What does Harrow LiDe's
personalised assessment focus on,
if not scores alone?
At the heart of Harrow's Holistic Education philosophy
is the belief that a student's values, sense of purpose,
and an accurate understanding of their potential
are key drivers of academic success
and future school admissions.
In this process, effective support from both parents
and the school is equally important.
Therefore, academic assessments at Harrow LiDe
are never based solely on scores.
Instead, students, parents, teachers and the schools
work together as an "assessment group",
continuously collecting multi-dimensional data
and evidence in the teaching practices.
This helps evaluate students' mentality, abilities and needs accurately while setting effective goals.

For instance, Harrow LiDe School Nanning has implemented the “First Term Goal-Setting” programme,
which was very well received by parents.
For Grades 11 and 12 students,
the items where students assess themselves and
which parents and teachers discuss
and set goals for include:
How often do I demonstrate Harrow core values?
Based on my CEM test results, what are my predicted and ideal scores in each subject?
How should I set my GSE target score for the near future and for the end of the term?
What are the goals that I should set in terms of Harrow’s academic traits and my interests and talents?

学校也会在目标设定中,融入当地特色项目,

以哈罗海口为例,
高年级同学的一大学术目标是:
提升学生英语阅读水平,培养阅读热情和学术实力
为此,学校引入了AR阅读系统
(Accelerated Reader)和Star Reading系统
阅读系统的量化测评,让学生了解自己的选书标准、阅读理解程度和发展区间
英语老师会基于大数据分析统计,
根据每个学生不同的情况因材施教
设定个性化短期目标和长期目标,
并提供有针对性的阅读指导
在哈罗礼德各地分校,这样以科学数据为指引、

"My initial priority would be to work closely with the AISL Harrow group to ensure alignment between our processes and their standards. Additionally, I aim to foster a data-driven culture across the institution, supporting informed decision-making at every level. We are developing an academic tracking system that will set data goals for our students in each subject. For example, after CAIE releases global results, how are our students performing compared to the global average? Where do we need to improve? We can use the system to compare and analyse. With data, we can also set specific goals for our students.”
Students from different schools may have varying academic strengths and needs, for example:
Whether to focus on improving English skills,
or strengthening STEM literacy?
Each school has its own targeted assessment focus and enhancement plans;
School will also incorporate localised initiatives,
along with communication methods
that suit local families when setting goals
This flexibility allows avoid rigidity and formalism during assessment and goal setting integrating teaching observations and successful experiences to achieve sustainable personalised education
For example, a key goal for Upper School Students
in Harrow Haikou is to
enhance English reading proficiency, cultivate a passion for reading, and strengthen academic capabilities
The School has implemented Accelerated Reader and Star Reading assessment system
which enable quantitative assessments, allow students to choose the suitable reading content for them, easier to fully understand the content, and reach their potential
Teachers will based on big data analysis and statistics to tailor their teaching to each students,
in order to set short-term and long-term goals,
and provide reading guidance.
