Our client is a prestigious luxury retail brand renowned for its commitment to excellence and unparalleled customer service. In line with their expansion strategy, they are seeking a dynamic and experienced Cafe Manager to lead this new venture in Nanjing

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the café: Oversee and ensure the smooth functioning of daily activities, including customer service, food and beverage preparation, and overall cafe ambiance.

  • Schedule shifts for staffs and Baristas: Create and manage staff schedules, taking into account peak hours, employee availability, and workload distribution.

  • Hire and onboard new staff and Baristas: Lead the recruitment process, conduct interviews, and facilitate onboarding for new team members. Ensure a seamless integration into the company culture and standards.

  • Train employees on drinks preparation and proper use of coffee equipment: Provide comprehensive training to staffs and Baristas, emphasizing quality standards, customer service, and the art of coffee and gelato making.

  • Coordinate with vendors and order supplies: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers. Effectively manage inventory levels by coordinating orders for items such as takeaway cups, coffee, milk, and other ingredients, while keeping costs in line with Golden Goose standards.

  • Maintain updated records of revenues and expenses: Keep accurate records of daily, weekly, and monthly financial transactions. Provide regular reports to HQ regarding the cafe's financial performance, ensuring adherence to cost control measures.

  • Introduce new menu items based on seasonality and customer preferences: Innovate the menu by incorporating seasonal offerings and considering customer feedback to enhance the overall dining experience.

  • Advise staff on issue resolution and deliver excellent customer service: Act as a mentor to the team, providing guidance on handling customer concerns and ensuring the delivery of exceptional service.

  • Ensure all cafe areas are clean and tidy: Uphold high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas of the cafe, including workspaces, dining areas, and restrooms. Regularly check grooming standards of staff members.

  • Nurture friendly relationships with customers: Foster a welcoming atmosphere, engaging with customers to build loyalty and enhance the cafe's reputation within the community.

  • Monitor daily expenses: Keep a vigilant eye on daily expenses, identifying opportunities for cost optimization without compromising quality.

  • Report directly to the company: Provide regular updates on the cafe's performance, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Other tasks assigned by Line Manager.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years work experience as a Cafe Manager.

  • Fluent in spoken English.

  • Hands-on experience with professional coffee machines.

  • Data sensitive, strong data analysis skills.

  • Availability to work within opening hours (including weekends and holidays).

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.

  • Customer service attitude.
