The flag-guard team, valiant and heroic in bearing, escorted the vibrant Five-Star Red Flag into the venue. Everyone present stood solemnly and paid their respects as they sang the national anthem with immense reverence and honored the flag. As the Five-Star Red Flag rose slowly and fluttered in the breeze, four students, including Tan Xiyue, Jiang Qiuyan, Li Muze, and Shi Yufeng presented their original group speech--Growing Together with My Motherland. Xu Xiaohang, a doctoral student from the School of Materials Science and Engineering and a Self-Reliance Star of Chinese University Students, delivered a speech under the flag. Together, the students expressed their determination to face their growth with full enthusiasm and contribute their youthful wisdom and strength to achieving high-level scientific and technological self-reliance in China.
The teachers present at the event expressed their expectations that the youth of SEU in this new era would look back on history, always remember and be grateful for the revolutionary heroes who sacrificed their lives for the establishment of the People’s Republic of China, as well as the role models who made outstanding contributions to its development. They encouraged the students to foster a strong ambition for national prosperity, hone their skills for national strength, and courageously build their contributions to the nation. The teachers reminded everyone to keep in mind General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instruction, to strive alongside the country and the people, and to continuously write magnificent chapters of taking responsibility in pursuit of Chinese modernization.
Finally, the students and faculty joined together to sing Ode to the Motherland, offering their sincerest blessings to our great nation.
This morning, flag-raising ceremonies and National Day activities were held simultaneously at the Sipailou Campus, Dingjiaqiao Campus, Jiangbei Campus, Wuxi Campus, and Suzhou Campus.
