WASCZ | An Invitation of School Open Day at WASCZ

Founded in 2012, WASCZ is the first sister school in China of Wycombe Abbey School, a prestigious public school with a top academic ranking in the UK. The school occupies 150 acres of land and is situated on the shores of the beautiful West Taihu Lake. Over the past ten years, WASCZ has grown and developed into a vibrant oasis on the shores of West Taihu Lake.

Since its establishment, WASCZ has been consistent with the essence of its holistic education philosophy, following the pure house system, boarding system, tutorial system and small class size, providing high quality education and boarding options for students aged between 3 and 18 years old, as well as providing 24/7 Pastoral for each student. As a unique contemporary international school, it is a perfect blend of Chinese and British educational philosophies and upholds the vision of " Every child can excel ".

WASCZ has an excellent curriculum with 15 years of continuity. In the kindergarten stage, we adopt the Early Years Foundation System (EYFS), which is dedicated to cultivating children's ability development in seven major areas; in the compulsory education stage, we adopt the Chinese-English Bilingual Integrated Curriculum, which is based on the National Curriculum, combined with the British syllabus, to provide students with a solid foundation in the subjects they study; and in the Upper School stage, we provide students with a choice of about approximately 30 IGCSE and A Level courses, and equip each student with a professional university guide to create a tailor-made programme to help students knock on the door of a prestigious university. 

At WASCZ, we not only focus on the development of academic excellence, but also on the interests and potential of our students. We offer about 100 extracurricular extension programmes covering sports, arts, music, science and humanities. These include more than 30 sports and 20 one-on-one lessons in Chinese and Western musical instruments, as well as a wide variety of programmes such as ceramics, costume design, 3D printing, programming, robotics, etc., to help every student discover his or her talents and potential and develop skills that will benefit them for the rest of their lives.

Our students can express and show themselves on the stage of WASCZ. The school organises a wide range of sporting and cultural activities various musical performances, as well as various exhibitions. Students also have the opportunity to stand on the world stage and participate in international programmes such as the Duke of Edinburgh' s International Award - Adventurous Journey, the World Scholars Cup, the ASEEDER Business Simulation, as well as a variety of cultural, artistic, diving and skiing trips and other thematic study activities at home and abroad, to comprehensively enhance the core qualities of our students and their global perspective.

As an inclusive boarding and day school,WASCZ follows the traditional management model of a leading British boarding school, providing pastoral for every student. Up to 95% of our boarding staff are also full-time academic teachers, and 80% of our staff and their families live at the school. They work closely together to ensure the wellbeing of our students, overseeing their academic progress and social skills development, and providing a 24/7 presence to give our students the warmth of a family home. With 12 different houses that bring students together, our students do not feel alone in their teamwork, and they experience the power of teamwork through house activities and competitions after school.

WASCZ has created a range of facilities to help students embrace growth in a professional environment. Students can work up a sweat in professional sports facilities, immerse themselves in multi-functional science laboratories to explore the wonders of science and engineering, and develop their artistic talents in a variety of art classrooms. At WASCZ, delicious canteen, cosy student houses, and facilities such as a natural forest garden and a small playground create a healthy, holistic environment for students to grow.
