在不久前的中秋节前夕，我们在常州威雅一起庆祝了这个美妙的节日。在中秋节的那一天，人们相信宛若玉盘、格外明亮的月亮，是阖家团圆的象征。因此，代表着团聚和圆满的中秋节也成为了中国最重要的传统文化节日之一。
On the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival recently and at WASCZ we celebrated this festival in style. On that day it was believed that the moon was at its brightest and largest, which symbolised family reunion, hence being one of the most important cultural holidays in China.

我们幼儿园的小朋友们在中秋节的前夕，穿着传统的中国服饰，带着他们自己制作的灯笼一起学习了中秋节的起源——距今有三千多年历史的周朝丰富的传统文化。为了帮助我们的孩子加深对中秋节的理解和欣赏，我们通过阅读关于中秋节的故事和中国神话中的月亮女神嫦娥的传说，开始了这美好的一天。之后，我们还一起在教室里做了一些五颜六色的灯笼，这些小小的灯笼是中秋节必不可少的一环，古时候的人们会在廊下庭院里点起灯笼，以寄托对家乡的思念。
Our kindergarten children came dressed in traditional clothing and brought their own lantern to recognise the rich Chinese traditions from the Zhou Dynasty. To help our children deepen their appreciation and understanding, we started this wonderful day by reading stories about Mid-Autumn Festival and the legend of Chang’e, the moon goddess in Chinese mythology. Following this, we made colourful lanterns in the classroom.
月饼制作
Mooncakes!
月饼，作为中秋节的传统美食，同样象征着团团圆圆。孩子们一起用各种颜色的粘土制作了橙黄的馅儿、莲蓉的夹心和圆圆的月饼皮，然后将其压入月饼模中，五颜六色，形色可爱的月饼就制作完成了，他们也把这些可爱的“手工月饼”带回了家留作纪念。虽然不能食用，但这些“月饼”可以被永久地保存下来，留在他们对中秋节的记忆里。
The children made mooncakes from clay to take home with them as a small souvenir of the day. We created the orange yolk, the lotus seed paste and the crust from wonderful colours before pressing it into the mooncake mould.
灯笼走秀

身着美丽的中国传统服饰，提着自己做的小灯笼，梳着各式各样的发髻，孩子们自豪地在幼儿园活动厅走起猫步，展示着自己的装扮，时不时互相赞美着对方，好奇地摸摸对方衣服上的装饰，赞叹着彼此手里的灯笼，在这个美好的节日里留下了满园的欢声笑语。
To display their beautiful, traditional clothing, the children proudly walked up and down the catwalk in our hall, complimenting each other and celebrating together.
