The WAS Changzhou Fencing Club, led by our dedicated Head Coach, Ms Guo, made an electrifying start to the season at the 2024 Suzhou International School Fencing Tournament. Their competitive spirit, honed through hours of after-school training and preparation, was rewarded with an impressive haul of medals, reflecting their dedication and the thrill of the competition.
In the senior category, S. Xu claimed the gold medal with an outstanding performance, while K. Hong secured a silver, showcasing exceptional skill and determination.
The success continued in the lower age groups, where K. Zhang and V. Zhang (who are siblings) both brought home gold. Grade 6 fencers L. Mei, K. Shang, and O. Xu added to the tally with silver and bronze medals, while Grade 4' s K. Chen and T. Shi earned bronze medals. In Grade 3, L. Yao secured another gold, marking a remarkable achievement for our youngest fencers.
In addition to the medal winners, several other athletes came incredibly close to the podium, displaying great potential and perseverance.
We are also immensely grateful to the parents and the school community for their unwavering support. We are confident that their support and our students' dedication will pay off in future competitions, and we look forward to more exciting results from the entire squad as the season progresses. Meanwhile, we are also looking forward to more new students joining the fencing team and earning more achievements with us in the future.
