简要介绍 Introduction

院长见面会旨在更好地掌握学生生活与学习状况，进一步提高学院学生的教育、管理与服务水平，在院领导与学生之间搭建起有效的沟通渠道和交流平台。通过学生的反馈，学院能够了解到大家的诉求，改善大家的学习和生活。

The JI Town Hall meeting is aimed at better grasping the living and learning conditions of students, further improving the education, management and service for students, and building an effective communication channel  between the Deans and the students. Through the feedbacks from students, JI can understand the needs of students and improve everyone's learning and life.

大家在密院学习生活了这么久，相信大家对密院已经足够了解了！那在生活中有没有遇到什么不方便之处？对于寝室环境、龙宾楼学习环境、以及线上平台有没有什么意见？是时候让院长听到你们的心声了！填写问卷，让你们的烦恼和需求得以解决吧！

Since we all have been studying and living at JI for a long time, you must have known enough about JI already! Have you encountered any inconveniences in your life? Do you have any comments on the dormitory environment, Longbin Building, and the online platform? It's time for the Deans to hear you! 学生提案内容

每一门课程容量非常有限，致使学生无法报名参加一些喜欢的课程。此外，一些学生使用脚本进行选课，对课程注册环境造成了很大的伤害。每次选课过程开始时，课程注册网站就会崩溃，特别是对early bird选课阶段。

Students' Proposal

Each course has a limited capacity, resulting in students not being able to enroll in some courses they preferred. In addition, some students may use scripts to select courses, causing a lot of harm to the course registration environment. The course registration site crashes every time the selection process begins, especially for the early bird selection phase.

●学院在招聘更多教授来满足同学们的需求

●IT办公室最近正在升级选课系统，目前的选课系统是5年前的版本，IT办公室正在着手改进代码

●waitlist的方案有其缺陷，对于一个waitlist上的同学而言，可能需要退掉一门课再选一门新的。这就需要同学们对自己的选课进行调整。这一方案要将同学响应的时间考虑在内

●正在考虑通过添加验证码的方式来避免脚本，这一问题会进行进一步的调研

Dean & Faculty's Response

●The college is hiring more professors to meet the needs of the students

●The IT office is recently upgrading the course selection system. The current system is 5 years old and the IT office is working on improving the programming.

●The waitlist solution has its drawbacks. For a student on the waitlist, it is necessary to drop a class and take a new one. This requires students to make adjustments to their course selections. This should also take students' response time into account.

●It would be feasible to avoid scripting by adding a captcha, and this issue will be investigated further.

学生提案内容

同学们只能报名参加有限种类的课程，然而，这很难做出重大改变。原因是体育系总共有60名教师，负责300个教学班以及高水平运动员的培训。开设更多的课程会给教师增加很多工作量，尤其是当其他学院放假而JI不放假的时候。

目前的体育课课程安排一直旨在为同学们增加更多的选择。也就是说，目前的课程允许同学们在前两年总共四学期的体育课中，可以选择不同的活动。例如，女生可以在不同的学期选择做瑜伽和不同球类活动。

Students' Proposal

Students can only enroll in a limited variety of courses, however, it is difficult to make significant changes. The reason is that the PE Department has a total of 60 faculty members responsible for 300 classes as well as the training of high-level athletes. Offering more classes would increase the faculty's workload, especially when other departments are on vacation while JI is not.

The current PE course schedule has been designed to add more options for students. That is, the current curriculum allows students to choose different activities during the first two years of a total of four semesters in PE classes. For example, girls can choose to do yoga and different ball activities in different semesters.

●Students should try as many different kinds of sports as possible instead of just sticking to one of them.

●Discuss with the PE department about the possibility of having more options for classes.

●Encourage the students to actively participate more in after-school sports.

You can submit a proposal on the SRC/ send proposals to the email of the Liason Department/ fill out the survey to submit your proposal!
