PROFILE
PhD degree students above/or completed PhD degree less than one year ago at the time of application. Fluency (oral and written) in English and Chinese; Education or any other major in the social science/science fields; Good communication skills, including writing skills; Good computer and IT skills and experience in using office software packages; An awareness of the many facets of a multicultural world and a commitment to international public service are essential; The duration of an internship must be six months on a full-time basis (five working days a week).
Assist in collecting and translating documents in connection with education policies and laws, government reports, research papers and media reports; Assist with translation and proof-reading project documents and reports as well as coordination and implementation of projects and activities; Assist in coordinating the organization of seminars, workshops and events; Assistance in administrative tasks; Any other tasks as assigned by his/her immediate supervisor.

An internship affords you the opportunity to work in a multicultural, intergovernmental organization; UNESCO Regional Office for East Asia covers transportation allowance of interns. Costs and arrangements for additional travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions; As the internship programme is not connected with the recruitment process, the granting of an internship should not be interpreted in any way as a preliminary step towards employment at the Secretariat.
