Be Modest and Learn From Others
In the Spring and Autumn Period, there lived a man named Kong Yu, who served as a senior official in the State of Wei.
He was both clever and diligent. Whenever he encountered something he didn't understand, he would promptly seek advice from others, regardless of their level of education or social status. He never felt ashamed or embarrassed to do so.
After his passing, the ruler of the State of Wei honored him with the posthumous title "Wen". Even Confucius held him in high regard. He always encouraged his students to emulate Kong Yu's virtues.
Today we use it to refer to someone who’s modest and studious.
